Wavy Styles

You'll probably have to straighten it before you do the curls. That's a lot of work, but seems worth it. ;)

This might help:

You can get a curler made for wave curls....

What I do is just curl at night and sleep on it....it eventually falls to softer curls...and I just touch up in the morning to product and go...saves me time...more sleep before class

wavy hair

Does anyone have any tips on how to recreate these two styles? (My hair type is thick)

wavy hair

how would you go about getting wavy hair, if youve got naturally curly hair?

products, etc. please?

John Frieda's Beach Spray used to do that for my hair...beach waves I believe, if you brush your hair while it's wet it kinda calmed down the curls and made them more rope like, but I can't find the product lately.

My hair is more wavy than curly...but what I always do, when I'm going to let it air dry is brush it while it's wet and apply a straightening creme( to relax the curls, one of Lanza's is great) and a shine serum as well. If you find the right products that's usually the best bet. If it doesn't work well, put the products in and then do pigtail braids until your hair is mainly dry....stops your hair from curling without getting rid of waves.

Hope I helped a tiny bit.

Hair (Curling) Ideas

Hi all, I'm having an event in a week and I'm thinking about curling (or "waving" -- more like "waves" than real curls maybe) my hair TEMPORARILY, just for the event. Any ideas or recommendations? Please post pictures of nice curls/hairstyles if you have any for some ideas and inspiration. Thanks! ;)

What I do is use my GHD straightners as curling irons, and wrap 2 inch sections of hair around my finger, then clamp the curl in the straightening irons for 15 seconds. The let it fall and brush through it with your fingers.

Alternatively, to get that wavy effect rather than curly, I just twist my hair up in a chignon for the day and let it down. I can can keep my hair like that for 2 days if I keep on spraing TIGI Curl spray in it every now and again.

Thanks for the tips, Susie Bubble, I've been trying to create GHD curls forever but with no luck I'm afraid!

Loose waves

Does anyone know how to achieve loose, natural looking waves à la longhaired Sienna Miller/MKA Olsen?

I've already tried braiding my hair overnight, but it was really frizzy the next morning and the waves were sort of angular.
- Are there any tips or pieces of advice as far as frizzing is concerned?
- I fear I'll probably need a curling lotion/cream as my hair is naturally straight and thin. Recommendations, please?

Thanks in advance. :flower:

I've heard of this method but never tried it before:

1)after washing your hair, towel dry until damp.
2)Apply mousse/holding hair product or curl defining spray
3)Scunch up your hair and tie it into a messy bun
4) blow dry w/ high heat or let air dry
5) after an hour or a couple hours (not sure how long the time should be) untie your hair
6) you should now have loose, natural waves

hope this helps. or seomone can correct me if they have tried a similar procedure.

What's your natural texture like? If your hair is stick straight you're going to have to either get a loose perm or use a curling iron. If your hair has some kind of natural wave to it, you could use a curl enhancing product and attach a diffuser to your blowdry (scrunch and dry).

How to get this hair style?

I've been trying to create this wavy curly look but just cant do it. I could be doing something wrong or using the wrong hair styling tools. But I've been trying to get my hair to look like this:

I've been using these spongy roller clips and they work great but they dont give me this look, they give me really spirally curls and my hair is passed my shoulder like 3 inches and when I use these rollers the curls go all the way up to my ears and thats not what I want! I've also used this heat iron curler that looks like this: http://www.ulta.com/control/product/~product_id=2103864
it creates a spiral curl but that doesnt work.

Do any of you know how to creat the look above? wavy curly hair but not soo curly and spirally?
