Wear, Return, Store, Sell or Donate?

Last Call

So I was searching for a thread where I could ask you fellow members about something I own that Im not sure if I should get rid of or not... in my case I can put them on ebay, but I dont want to, I wont get half the money I paid for these.

Anyway, this thread is for you all that are confused about what to do with these items that are collecting dust in your closet... hey, two minds think better than one, imagine what 1,000 minds can do??

Ok first shot, these green Prada sandals, what to do with them? I like them, but I dont know if they're up to date for this summer :ninja:

With the right outfit I think you can work these green sandals way into this summer and maybe the next.

I say keep them, and wear them.
Heck, if I can still locate these sandals, I would get a pair too..I think they are very outstanding.

what a fantastic idea...major karma to you Alejandro :flower:

being a fellow ebay fanatic....i think this will work very well

oh and the sandals...i really should give my input ...

uumm...not a great fan..i think you shoudl sell them and invest ina better pair

i think those sandals look good on your feet and you should keep them for a while longer. $0.02

Alejandro, I like those sandals, but they are on the femme side (I thought they were girls' feet before I saw who posted it, because of the sandals, not the feet) so while I am not saying that they are way too girly, if you are comfortable with that gender-ambivalent aspect of them, they are cute and you should keep them. If I had a pair like that, I would!

What does everyone think of this sweatercoat? I believe it is polyester. I have never actually worn it. It can't be worn with the one button done up because that's right over my chest so it gets stretched. I feel like, on the one hand, it's not the world's most beautiful sweatercoat, but on the other hand, I already have it and they are not out for this spring... Maybe I could wear it open with the sleeves a bit rolled... on top of... I'm not sure what yet.

PS. For anyone interested I only kept sandals #3 from my last post. After tabulating all the votes those ones got the most yays, and I think you all were right! And I like chunk, over or not, hehe.

On the hanger, the sweater looks kinda frumpy... maybe if I saw a picture of it on you??

Well, since you asked....I have yet to see a sweatercoat that looks really good on anyone. Warm, yes. Stylish, not so much.

And since this one is polyester and probably not that warm, my vote is for donate.

Alejandro, keep the sandals. They're cute.
I would donate the sweater and the shoes.

hey guys!
i need help. i have a pair of bcbg black boots that i don't know to do with anymore. i bought it last year and never got the chance to wear it and i don't know when i'll wear it or what to wear it with anymore.
so i've thought about selling it on ebay, but i don't think i'll get even half the amount of money i spent on them back.
but keeping it and not wearing them seems a waste.
what should i do?

I would donate the sweater (because it is polyester) you could make a not so stylish eastern european woman really happy with that piece.
I would keep the boots, but only wear them with a pants over the shaft, because they are cowboyboots like.

I think you're right when you say that you probably won't get a lot of money on it on eBay. The trend has mostly passed, I think. On the good side, though, cowboy boots will probably come back at some point. So I think it would be worthwhile to keep it.

And for some reason, the wooden heel and sole really bothers me. I think if you could paint or stain it somehow, the boots might be a little more classic, less trendy?

thanks! i guess i'll store it haha.
well, i was thinking about staining the heel and sole. but i don't how or what color to stain it? would black make it look really weird? i don't know i can't picture it with another color.

Yasmin...The heel of pair 1 won't come back in that incarnation--donate them. That's the bummer about shoes...they change subtley but most people can spot the difference. That's why we always want to buy more.

Donate pair 2. They remind me of KorkEase but the toe strap is fussy.

Store pair 3 til next summer. They're a variation on the gladiator shoe...more like gladiator height sandals. Interesting.

Love this thread!

Thanks kan-i-ta and Stylebites,

I posted those a while ago, and I ended up donating pairs 1 and 2 of the shoes, I wore pair 3 last weekend but still unsure if I like them, and I donated the sweatercoat.

Great minds must think alike because this is pretty much exactly what you've suggested :) I'll have to post some more to this thread, it's very helpful

EDIT: I've taken down the pictures of the items that I've already donated - no item, no photo!

This might be helpful for this forum. For the shoes you store away for the future, you might try the clear shoe boxes that I blogged about today.

Maybe you already have?

I don't know how you would do it or how it would look. Perhaps if you took it to a cobber, they could make suggestions? Good luck!

Stylebites, good idea about the shoes. I use the clear containers from the Container Store myself.

Wear, Store, Donate?
I haven't been wearing these. Should I be?

1. Looks kinda messy in the photo - interlocking silver-tone chain (links are kinda large, but not huge) necklace that doubles over to a medium length (or you could wear it really long).

2. Three strings of white beads. At the time I thought maybe there would be something I could wear with this but I haven't come up wit anything.

3. Silver(plated? not sure but it's tarnished and the heart is heavy), thinner chain with a smooth, 3d heart pendant.
