i've seen flip-flops too.

unfortunately maryjanes (as bazaar noted this month) seem to be out right now--though they are always in with me!

is dyed silk or custom-made an option?

when you say dyed silk i get flashbacks to those wedding shoes from the 80's -dyeables. heh.

i want something that isnt ridiculously high and isnt too frumpy either. and i think i'd like to spend less than $800.

prada put out some silver glitter pumps last year that could be a possibility - but i'm worried that glitter may look too sophmoric.

^What about Miu Miu? They have some similar to what you're after this season.

Jimmy Choo have some gorge silver strappy sandals... you could also maybe try Manolo Blahnik?

the hard part is tracking down the style names...
