I agree.

For one..........oil and moisture are two totally different things.

Even oily skin, can be dehydrated.

i just want to thank everyone for the advice, ive been moisturizing for about 3 days already 2 times a day,and my skin looks so nice and fresh=]]]]]]]i see a big change

I completely agree. People with an oily face must use some kind of cleanser or toner first before moisturizing. :)

I've started moisturizing twice daily partially due to my sun exposure and it's really helping a lot.

You know it's funny, since i read this thread i don't use moisturizer. Actually not because the thread but because it's very hot here these days and if i use moist. i sweat much on my face which i hate. I use dove gentle soap or vichy cleaning gel and after vichy toner. That's all and my skin feels nicer.. O.o
No, i don't say stop using creams (soon i'll go back using it too) but it's interesting. ^_^

Everyone should use moisturizer. Just stay away from the ones with retinol and other anti-aging chemicals if you have young skin. Use something plain and simple, with sunscreen.

I think i stick to vichy normaderm moist. It absorbs very fast. ^_^ Though, sometimes i feel need for a richer moist. I'll use shiseido's multi-energizing cream for that. :woot:

i'm 19 and i've been wondering the same thing for a while now: what age to start moisturizing?

i use moisturizing creams on my entire body everyday after i take a shower and i don't know what my skin would look like if i didn't use it, because i've been doing it for 5 or 6 years now.
i have oily skin on my face so i didn't know what moisturizer was good for me (althoug after enjoying a day on the beach i always apply moisturizer to keep it from getting dehydrated)
but during the summer it gets really hot and i heavy or not-well-absorbed moisturizer can feel really bad on your face.
so after reading some posts i'm gonna try some moisturizers and see how it results.

^ I really suggest you vichy normaderm moisturizer if you also suffer from not well absorbed creams when it's hot. It's the only thing that works for me when temperature goes high. :flower:

i have been moisturizing forever even with acne skin and i'm 26, the key is two oil-free ones, one with suncreen for day and one with gentle exfolliating acids for night, neutrogena has great ones, another good thing is pure aloe vera gel, i apply it before whatever moisturizer i put on and it works wonders for oily skin because it "balances" the face and helps with blemishes and smoothness plus i find i need less of anything else i put on my face

I think a simple moisturizer with spf 15 is vital for everybody beginning in their teens. Think about it -- when you wash your face, you are stripping away the natural oils/moisturizers. You need to replace them somehow. I've been moisturizing since I was about 16 (although I didn't always do it as regularly as I do now).

I never used ANY moisturizer til I hit my 30s. sunscreen is wayyyyyy more important (plus it moisturizes). I also didn't start that til late 20s. but I'm lucky - at 40 I have very very few wrinkles. thank God.

I'd say get on the sunscreen train ASAP. The ozone layer hole has made it worse for you all in your teems.
