Yum! Please say happy birthday to him/her for me.

I was actually going to buy a cake for him at a local dog bakery, but after seeing their prices I decided to bake my own. It really isn't hard at all with so many online recipes for dogs. And even if it turns out tasting like sh*t, I wouldn't know anyway, my dog would still gladly eat it all up.

no purchases, but one fantastic gift. Its a safari style rain jacket by Louis Vuitton in a sand color with classic Damier trim. Its adorable, and was an early birthday gift from a close friend of mine. Oh, and I bought a Fiji water.

I love getting birthday gifts early or late- I always get stiffed b/c my b-day is 2 weeks after christmas and everyone is broke

Today:

2 large orange citronella candles on bamboo stakes for the garden They have puffy wax insect appliqued on them--

2 tomato seedlings and 2 cages for them

2 lilac bushes

Tomorrow I am going to try to find some pretty lanterns for my soon-to-be-lovely garden- I want to b able to leave them outside, so no paper ones. Maybe the China Wall store on Canal?

I ahve seen those lanterns in places like Cost Plus Imports and Pier One before, too.

You might want to also see if there is an independent Fair Trade market anywhere nearby you, as you can find spectacular and unique stuff in most of those and the prices are still quite reasonable!

I am so glad to hear of another gardener in here What color lilacs? Mine are white ones, and still too tiny to bloom. I am hoping next year they will blossom. The largest is still under 2' tall--they were offshoots from my mom's big lilac bush.
