What Do You Feel About Marc Jacobs Bags?

I love MJ bags for the colors and design. I also like the fact that it doesn't have monogram logos plastered all over it, which I'm not a fan of. I own a few MJ bags and I love the fact that I can purchase them on discount!

i love MJ bags
but the quality of them is not so great
my multipocket MJ bag broke on the rings that hold the shoulder strap
the rings are anchored in place and the little metal piece that holds them anchored, broke.....so now they spin...which exposes the open section of the ring (where the anchor once held it in place)
hard to explain, but if you have an MJ multipocket bag, then you know what im talking about


it was my first designer handbag i ever purchased, and i saved for it for so long
so it will always hold special meaning to me
but unless an MJ bag is significantly discounted, i wont invest in one again

Ironic. I'm holding a MJ bag today
I bought many different designer bags like Salvatore, Louis, and Cartier but luckily, someone I knew didn't want their MJ bag so I purchased it for $200; now I know why. lol

Retail was $800; not bad, but I know what you mean Alexis1983. The week I got it, the rings were turned out. Sad :"(

I am a newbie to MJ bags, so when I was having a closer look and feel at a dept. store several months ago, I too, was disappointed with the quality. The older MJ styles seem sturdier and better made. I was looking at online pics of older MJ bags that are lined in suede. The lining now is canvas or cotton, right? Do you think the cheaper Marc by Marc Jacobs bags hold up better? Their leather seems a bit better to me.

Overall I am quite a fan of Marc Jacobs handbags. I have a few of the collection bags and just recently purchased another MbyMJ bag..I like the diffusion bags because they are a bit more fun and spur of the moment. However, the collection bags I think will be classics for a while. For example, the Stam bag I think will live on for years to come as the go to bag for almost any ensemble.
