What do you spend the most and least on?

^ I spend the very least on belts as I don't wear them

I have a couple of patterned obi belts from Etsy which were a very good deal (back when the AU dollar was good) and an old kimono sash I use as a belt (from my mum) - cheap! :D

Most: skin care products - usually Lancome, pants (if they fit right they're worth it!), over jackets/sweaters as I wear them so often, handbags, anything incredibly cute I spot and it actually fits

Least: basic v-neck coloured shirts that you wear to go with stuff, socks (thankfully I found some with the seam-free comfort toe), hair accessories

-Skincare (Sisley & Shiseido)
-Shoes
-Semi-precious handmade jewelry

I spend the most of shoes and pants (hard to find ones that fit great!) I spend the least on jewelery (i hardly wear any), belts, socks, and just accessories in general with the exception of bags.

I spend the most on bags, jackets/coats and knitwear.

I spend the least on basic tees and underwear as I just can't bring myself to spend a fortune. Also on accessories as I get bored easily.

I spend the most on jeans, outerwear (coats and jackets), shoes

The least on skirts and some basics, but it depends

most, on dresses or outerwear items.

i spend the least on sunglasses. they are so fragile, and break whether they are expensive
or not.

i think i spend the least on basic t-shirts and tanks...
i have so many...i probably spend a lot of money on them all together...
but i would rather have lots of options than a few really expensive t-shirts...
and i wear them so much for layering, around the house, etc...
they are always in the wash...but since i have so many, it's never an issue...

i am the same way with socks and tights...
lots and lots of relatively inexpensive options...

i think i probably spend the most money on boots, cashmere and special pieces from my favourite designers...
ie- yohji...

It really depends. A good percentage of my wardrobe is made up of ubercheap thrift store finds. And the rest is from places like H&M, Gap, and the Banana Republic, which really aren't expensive stores ! I probably spend the most on pants, because it is so difficult to find my size (length-wise). I also have a MAJOR weakness for jackets. So I splurge on those a lot. I never spend too much on tops or shirts though. Unless it is something completely unique. Funnily, I don't splurge on shoes. I buy 99% of my shoes at the thrift store because I hate the design I see of the shoes nowadays. Those nauseating dramatic tips- so disgusting! I prefer 1960's/1970's mod boots. Any sort of a boot with a heel. And one can hardly ever find those in retail- for men at least !

I definitely splurge on skincare. I only like the best. Most of the stuff I use is from Clinique, with some Clarins and Origins thrown in for good measure.

i try to keep the good solid things i love a splurge.

most: makeup because i always replace items..hair products/color (thats a big one every month)..some good clothing items i want in my closet and certain vintage items..and shoes(not all the shoes)..and purses since i tend to love big name brand ones..and i dont collect alot either after i fall in love with one or two..also lingerie (occasionally) but that can be less as well. and last perfume and im glad i usually stick to one brand! and if i can get a good piece of jewelry once and while.

least: loungy clothes..some everyday clothes..like jeans.. to me they are a joke if pricey..its way too loungy and doesnt deserve my hard earned money.. infact i dont care to wear them so why i bring them up. lol tshirts..those type of things. or some accessories. love bargains on high end items they sell at discount stores. yay ^_^

Most: quality leather items (boots, heels, sandals, bags, etc.), silk pieces, silk jersey knits, eyewear, nailcare and skincare...

Least: Basic tanks/tees, costume jewelry, denim (always get $$$ brands on sale) and trendy throw-away items

** However, the inexpensive items, however inexpensive they may be, can never look cheap... one of my favorite pieces of jewelry is a silver braided cuff (looks like something John Hardy would do) that cost me $10... gets endless compliments and ppl nearly choke when they find out how inexpensive it is...

ahh...
all three of you brought up good points...

i spend very little on 'loungy clothes'...
actually...
i have knit dresses that i bought for that very reason from old navy...
but i still wear my ratty old cashmere sweaters...
***they are just SOOOO SOOFT...
:meow:...:P...

i have definitely begun to splurge more on skin treatments though..
*i suppose that's a function of my age...but i also seem to be running out of things to buy...i have so much already...:ermm:...

frankly..i wish i could find some inexpensive lingerie that didn't suck......
that stuff is just crazy...
all the good stuff costs a small fortune...
...

so...it seems that while the fashion industry is suffering during this recession...
the beauty industry is booming...
:bunny:...

wiw- i know exactly the style of bracelet you mean...
i LOVE john hardy...i wish more of his stuff looked good on me...
but that is a great piece...good find!...
:flower:

^ Thanks softie!

Yes, lingerie is another important one. Good undergarments are investment, imo...

Since the recession, I feel that beauty and overall physical well-being have definitely become top priorities to many ppl. For instance, if one spends more on skincare and achieves or maintains a healthy, clear, glowing complexion, 'cheaper' clothing pieces or older pieces that one constantly wears can certainly take on a new life. Same with doing a bit of exercise or getting the odd pedi/mani here and there. If the body is well taken care of, one is going to feel + look good and in essence, clothing, whether old or inexpensive, will look great too simply b/c you feel good!

hmmm...sounds like the other thread we have...
'the skin you're in...'...

all good points wiw...all good points...

gotta get up off my *** and go excercise right now!
:hardhead:...

that doesn't even cost anything!!!
...

I def spend the most on main pieces such as winter coats, nice knitwear, lots of cashmere, accessories, bags, hats, scarfs... most expensive coat i've bought is about £2000, but averagely would spend at least £350! I prefer smaller boutiques as apposed to the mainstream designer stuff... I'm quirkey in style but mix it with quality main stream designer and high end high st too.

In fact I tend to spend alot on everything as I prefer quality to quantity... I've never been a huge shoe spender though... i'll pay up to about £125 but no more as they get recked to quickley no matter how much you spend!

As for beauty... make up I spend a bit but not loads... prob less than I should considering how much I spend on clothes...

I'll put a good dollar down for quality made denim, considering it's a year round staple for me and having the options to pair a good jean with just about whatever is great dealing with school and whatnot. Knits, jackets and cashmere also a great investment for me - the winter and fall months are so long, clothing needs its last ability for me. Same go with basics, but that's really a 50/50. Sitting closely would be skincare; moisturizers, face washes ... for obvious reasons.

Summer/Spring clothing on the other hand is a entirely different matter, the few warm months I get here aren't necessarily worthy for some higher end purchases. Usually find my self in a H&M or Target, and the odd thrift shop :innocent: At some point I'll love to buy an year round floral dress, but the occasion hasn't arise.. yet.

Shoe wise, it's difficult finding a middle-ground.. it's either dirt cheap or widely expensive, but Aldo and the odd flat from Target seems to suffice for now. One day I'll buy my self my first pair of designer shoes, till then I'm waiting for a summer employment.

Makeup, I buy it when I need it, it's not really crucial for me. As goes for accessories, though I'm beginning to find my self a little bit obsessed over belts lately.

most: shoes. also accessories and bags. Jackets. I don't mind spending a lot on a scarf if i know i'll wear it for many years.
least: basic tees and tops. H&M will do.

I try not to buy any super trendy items or at least try not to spend a lot on them.

most - accessories, jeans, jackets
least - t-shirts, tops, leggings... i get a lot of the basics from Topshop
