What Do You Splurge On?

I'll splurge on anything that really sings to me, but I don't always splurge on one category.

Generally I'm willing to spend more on:

good leather handbags
jeans
good black pants
tops/tees in supersoft fabrics with longer lengths and sleeves (love C&C California and James Perse)
nice coats
bras

I generally don't spend much on:

shoes (I just can't spend $400 on something I'm going to walk in all day and don't have much control over)
accessories (winter scarves/hats, any jewelry that isn't classic, belts)
underwear (It's Gap and VS for me and sometimes Target!)
anything overly trendy
pajamas (I rarely wear these so if I have to sleep in them when I'm staying at someone's house, I get cheap ones.)

But if a particular belt or pair of shoes just won't get out of my head and cost more than I'd usually spend, I'll sort of throw caution to the wind.

definitely jeans. I never wear them in summer, but in the winter I consider them part of my "outerwear" and spend just as much on good pair of jeans as I would a good coat. I don't spend a lot of money on clothes but jeans are the exception.

Me too!

Handbags. I love having a different handbag everyday...well, not everyday. but you know what i mean. i also love having different colors so i can match them to outfits.

I'll have to say its really easy to drop $100 on a designer shirt

i never splurge on anything. i have a complex, i refuse to pay retail unless it's an item that just can't be obtained any other way (vuitton, tiffany, joe's cobain socialites, devi kroell par exemple.) :ninja:

but i'm a poor student, so most of the time the cheap stuff feels like a splurge! :P

handbags.
i love shoes.
and i have some fairly expensive (for me) items of clothing
but handbags (+ accessories, too, as i love sunglasses) definately win the vote from me.

Designer (and non-designer) t-shirts. They all have such cool graphics and sayings these days, I want them all. A saleslady at Saks told me that the average American buys 30 t-shirts a year, that sounds a little high to me (maybe if I was the average American....but I'm not), but I think it shows that many people buy a lot of t-shirts without even thinking about it.
