Is it just me, or have any of you felt like magazines have been quite out of the loop on fashion lately. It seems like I know about trends months before Vogue, GQ and W do, and it seems I catch trends about a year before magazines like Cosmopolitian or Seveenteen post "trendy fashion tips". Whatever happened to they day when we looked in a magazine and we gasped in shock and awe of the unique beauty we saw before us?! Is it because the internet gives us access to shows right after they've been taped? Or is it because the vintage trends offer little room for creative control with designers? I'd be interested in hearing what you all think.

i agree, fashion magazines have become like smash hits or people! Nothing new anymore...at least people has interesting stories

Fashion magazines in general are very boring these days. I rarely even buy them. Everything, from articles to photography is always the same and very dull. And then there's the overt use of celebrities.

^ I think it's a combination of the internet and "star style", like you suggest.

Many, many mainstream magazines aren't being creative, it feels like they're getting more and more dumbed down and obsessed with it-bags, celebrities, tips on how to recreate their styles on a budget... :ninja:
