What is a fashion "screening"?

Sorry, but I have no idea where to post this but I figure the mods will move this accordingly.

I was invited to a "screening" by my SA who works at Dolce & Gabbana to be held at a very exclusive restaurant. What is a screening and what should one wear to it? She said it like "it's just a screening but I'm only allowed to invite 8 clients from this store."

I figure a lot of people work in the fashion industry here so they would know. Please help!

Well, obviously they're gonna show you their wares, but she didn't call it a fashion show (which implies models), she didn't call it an installation, and she didn't call it a trunk show, so I wonder if they're going to show you their runway show ... on a screen?? I'm sure someone else knows much more than I do tho

I think you should wear a cross between what you'd wear to a Dolce fashion show, and what you'd normally wear to that restaurant ... leaning toward the former.

I'd say just go with a white tee, vest...well cut casual blazer...casual trousers and shoes...and if you want to be adventurous...slip a thin scarf in...

Thanks for the advice guys... I'm thinking of wearing a black Lanvin skirt, and a white blouse. Hopefully it should be fine.

Fashionista, I think what you said was right, it's prob. a screening of their spring show - unfortunately, I actually don't own a lot of Dolce stuff... it's not my style, so it's odd that she invited me but I think it's prob. b/c I used to purchase a lot of stuff in that store mostly for gifts though.
