What to wear to prom or homecoming

Okay, in Germany we have something similar to the promnight...
I think about wearing some vintage jeans, converse, white shirt and black or darkgrey suitjacket + (maybe some ray bans :) )... what do you guys think?

well, if the event you are speaking of has the word "ball" in it, jeans and t-shirt do not seem to be the very best idea.. in my humble opinion.

but i'm not allowed to talk actually, as i skipped my prom.

hehe... no i didn't talk about a t-shirt, but a slim-fit, collared shirt, like a van laack oder joop! or something.
I think it would be boring to look like everyone in a suit... B)

Hmm-that seems decent, a collared shirt-but our prom is black-tie so yeah. Nonetheless, the idea of Converse is awesome.

this is the dress i wore to my summer ball and i love it! i really need an excuse to wear it again!

personally made by myself and i got the fabric free so it didnt cost me a penny! :)

Green Wellington boots, big warm red and black plaid coat, black trousers, xxl white gap vest. I never went to my prom, was in glastonbury instead! These were the only clothes I had left after the floods!

I wore a hot pink halter knit jersey dress with rhinestones along the neckline and along an up-to-there slit in the middle from cache (a formalwear store in indianapolis).

I don´t have a pic of myself with my dress, but it was like this one, in yellow!!... I´ll try to find the photos and I post them later... This woman is Miss venezuela.
But here it is:

OK I live in England and after watching years of American high school movies and Buffy The Vampire Slayer, I was pissed off I didn't have a prom. So I decided to do a pisstake at the leavers ball. This involved shipping the most tacky bright blue beaded ball gown from some American prom firm over and pairing it with ridiculous heavy earings and false eyelashes and the whole shebang. I stopped just short of the sash. I am not sure if everyone in the year understood the parody or if they thought I had really bad taste...

I wore a proper pink romantic-length tutu, white leotard and pointe shoes. It was fantastic!

OK well my prom is March 25th and im wearing a 2 piece dress for prom its actually a wedding dress, but i couldnt pass it up... I just dont know what i should do for jewelry etc... But the top its all beaded and laced up the back ill take pictures... but any ideas?

Accessorize me for Prom!

So, I've decided last minute that I AM in fact going to my senior prom. Today I found a dress:

(Nicole Miller)

I don't know what kind of shoes/jewelry to wear.
Ideas? I'm into bold stuff, but not in excess.. you know? The colors of the dress are most accurate on the first picture.

Thanks!

i looove your dress :D especialy the front

i don't have any pics of accessories you should use but i think gtold accessories woul look really nice

Thanks! I hope no one else has it.. I don't think they will. But yeah.

Gold.. I agree, but .. I really dislike gold jewelry. I could maybe go for goldish shoes..

Or maybe like
dull, gold colored stuff.

yea.not a bright gold..a dull gold would look much better

i thought this was cool..i have no idea where to get it form..lol...not really sure about the rope though..
but i think it looks really nice..and diferent

ooh. I like the earrings!
I think I either want to wear just a necklace or just earrings.

hhmm..i think a funky necklace and a bangle or cuff would looke awesome..earings might be too much

Because this dress is different than the typical prom dress, I feel that you should be a little atypical. I would suggest instead of crystals you instead go for wooden beaded things-like a wooden double-strand necklace and a wood bead bracelet. If you want gemstones, go for citrine or even garnet. As far as shoes, I would try some espadrilles with twine and chunky red and amber beads.
