What to wear to prom or homecoming

I think they look great together but you should try and though some Lanvin ish necklaces on top I think it would make it really fun and tie in the bright shoes.

I never know what to wear to these sorts of things. Last year I wore the Karen Walker sweetheart dress, but toughened the look up quite a lot with a vintage black leather belt, lots of black jewellery and quite tough black looking shoes as well as a black leather jacket to wear before I got to the venue, as I was inspired by that Teen Vogue shoot below...

so at my high school everyone wears the typical shiny rhinestone strappy cheap looking prom dresses.... that look is sooo not me and i really want to use this occasion to show my fashion forward style. i thought long and hard about it and i really wanna wear a dress with long sleeves. i know it might sound crazy but i think it will make me stand out in a good way which is what i want. i've found some great long sleeve gowns on style.com but im wondering if you guys have any suggestions.. i'd really appreciate the help

I LOVE dresses with long sleeves. My dream prom dress is this one, but unfortunately I think it is vintage, so I guess If I wanted one like it I would have to make it. I'm not sure if you will like it, as you will probably want something more glam, but I think it has a certain understated beauty to it...

Wow, I think everything looks great. If I were you, I'd wear nailpolish on my fingernails similar to the colour of the shoes. It would be a subtle detail but I think it will pull the whole look together. And might I ask, where are your shoes from? They're gorgeous! And your dress as well!

Grad Ball/Occassionwear Help!

Hiya,
I've got my grad ball coming up in June. I know that seems like miles away but with all the work I have in uni between now and then I need to get on the case of dress hunting!

I was just hoping some of you guys would have some helpful tips on where to get a dress under £150, hopefully somewhere no one else is likely to know about. Really don't want to have the awful same dress moment! I thought this might be helpful to people looking to get wedding/prom outfits too.

Prom 2012

Next year is my last high school year and you know the prom is coming. In my country we celebrate our graduation in May, so I have much time till may 2012, but... I can't stop thinking about my prom dress.

First at all I don't want typical prom dress. I mean dresses called "prom dresses". They looks extremely cheap - color, fabrics, pattern... I don't want dress like Sherri Hill or whatever. They are boring and if they aren't, they are overdecorated

I want my dress to be simply beautiful. Not simple, but beautiful, stunning, to be appropriate for young lady, not young wh*re or mid-aged woman.

I want my dress to enhance my youth and my femininity in the same time . I want to achieve refined, soft, classy look. My inspiration is Jackie Kennedy and all Oleg Cassini's works. On the other side I'm very into digital prints so they're option, too. The big problem is my budget - 150 EUR for the dress ://

I'm open for various ideas. Little known designers from your country or vintage or everything else.
