What's Your Digi Cam

canon digicameras are nice. look for cameras that provide higher mega pixels. 5 megapixels are fine for normal shots. also look for a camera that has clear lens. it's all with the lens. other brands that are also good: sony and olympus. if u want to invest on a good cam, like if ure planning to pursue a career on photography, it is best to buy a digital SLR. nikon cameras have good DSLR.

I got a Nikon digital SLR as an anniversary gift last year and I adore it! I think it's impossible to take bad pictures with it! (Okay, not really... but it really is great!).

Personally, I think Nikon and Canon make the best cameras. They have lots of options from which to choose and I'm sure you'll find something that'll suit your needs from either company. From the sound of it, a camera in the 4-megapixel range should do fine. I think you can get a really good one for just a couple of hundred dollars.

I used a Sony camera for three years before I got my Nikon D70, and I would recommend staying away from the brand. Yes, they make very aesthetically-pleasing cameras, but I also find that they are over-priced, and because they use their own brand of external memory (the Sony Memory Stick), it won't be compatible with any other brand of camera should you decide to upgrade. It's something to consider anyway.

i was lookin at the canon a95 and saw that softgrey bought it, so how is that camera softie?

i've merged the threads...i'm very happy with my camera ed...the flip window is very useful...

i need an extra set of batteries and a power cord...but it's very easy to get started...
i am still figuring out all the features...

those sites that captain jack posted came in very handy as they review cameras very thouroughly and objectively...
i recommend you take a look at those...

good luck...

I broke my Nikon CoolPix 5000 , so I went out and got a CoolPix 3200 around $200

I just got a Canon A85 from my grandma... I really don't have it figure out at all but I can take a decent picture and upload it..

Does anyone know about an ac adaptar or whatever for the canon?? My batteries dies so fast!

Get rechargeable NiMH batteries and a charger. They stay powerful for a lot longer, and when they run down, you just recharge them. They're good for like 1,000 charges. I take zillions of pictures, and can take about 200 per charge on the rechargeables, but only maybe 30 on a regular set of AAs.

Practically everything taken in the above gallery was done with my Canon A70. You don't need a big fancy camera to do some neat stuff. You just need to learn how to use all of the settings and to get bold and fearless with your composition.

My digital camera was a Christmas present from my husband last year and is one of the best gifts I've ever gotten.

Kyocera-Finecam-SL400R.jpg

I have a Kyocera Finecam. Its tiny- about the size of a credit card, abeit a bit thicker. I upgraded to a huge memory card (it can hold over 2,500 pics) and its amazing. Small, clear window, zoom, flash, can be b&w or color. And the battery is rechargable.

and its about $300

in short. it rocks.

i have the Canon S500 elph series. I LOVE it! compact, affordable, good pictures (ive always trusted canons), maybe not as compact as other camera's, but i really really really like it! $499.98 CDN

My dad just purchased a Canon PowerShot S1 for the family. It seems pretty good but I haven't used it a lot yet.

i have a simple hp 435 and it all depends on how i take the photos. most times they are good though sometimes they are even exceptional. then there are the times i wish i had a better one especially when it comes to zoom. memory can be taken care of with memory chips

**maybe now that we have a photography section we could move this over there?...
