What's Your Dream Watch?

You're so lucky Travis! I think my next watch will be the Patek Calatrava.

heh. i just bought the 3919R (in rose gold) from the calatrava collection not too long ago. even though i'm a girl, but i absolutely love the simplicity and elegance of this watch.

dream watch would be a patek that came out roughly 3 years ago(?), i don't know the name of that particular model, but it's a jewerly watch, the bracelet is consisted of rich orange color marbles in shapes of flower paddles, gold crusted, i believe there is bling on the face plate. retailed at 65k. does anyone know of that watch? i need to get my hands on a photo so i can do some research :flower:

^ great watch- and i think it'll work well on a women's wrist- it's certainly thin enough! mine is a 5120j- simplier face in yellow gold. i rarely wear it though.

was this the watch you were looking for?- the design reminds me of something from the boucheron archive

^ ok, but don't you think that one should work there way up to a breguet or patek phillipe- i was given a patek calatrava as grad gift but am too young to wear it. If one gets a fine watch too early- then whats left? ( kinda like 17 year olds carring birkins)

I dunno, travis  I agree that there are many things better left to the more mature (including major jewels), but I'm not sure a understated classic (even if expensive) is out of place on young adults ...

As to what's left ... life is left :woot:

that is a gorgeous watch. but it's not the one i'm looking for. the one i'm talking about has this deep rich orange colored marble as bracelets (crusted with gold). i've been looking everywhere. no luck in even finding a photo

which brand? and material model?
If you give such information, we can figure it out:;-P

I'm not much of a watch person, but I want the "Bell & Ross BR 01-92 Automatic Watch with Steel Case, Black Dial, and Synthetic Canvas Strap"
This one with a canvas strap. Is Bell & Ross a good company? I just saw an ad in Wallpaper* or some other magazine and really liked it.

^ I like bell and ross- there is a functional elegance to them- the perfect casual day watch- i like the idea of the BR-01's but there are too heavy for me but i have a geneve 123 as an everyday watch. they use good quality movements for the price and the brand is more niche- compared to tag and such.

I need some help finding a certain kind of mens watches.
The kind I'm looking for are quiet masculine and 'funky' lookswise.
Very unconvential.
Anyone who can give me a link to where I can find watches such as the
examples below, please?

I got a patek phillipe black rubber strap aquanaut in lady size but is trying to get one in automatice boy size. So my next goal is this Patek Phillipe automatic Aquanaut in medium size! ^_^

I need to sell my small one and add more money when I find get the medium size...

This one costs around 200 000 British pounds(not the most expensive Philippe Patek).
I got to know that Albert Einstein was oen of their customer.

Both of em cost 700 000 Euro:-)

That Sky Moon Tourbillon is not 'both of them' they are two faces on the same watch (with the Northern Hemisphere nightsky - or if you want, you can have the Southern - on the reverse side). It's like £580,000 but here's the catch you need to have an interview with the owner of Patek to get it. That's my dream watch as well but probably may be I need to sell my house first.

According to my 2006 watch guide, the most expensive watch of the year is a Vacheron Constantin in white gold (leather strap) .No diamonds, pure machinery and the fact that only 7 of them are being made to commemorate the firm's anniversary makes the price rocket (literally) to a cool 1.6 million dollars. Insane.

^ not really insane- it's all about rarity, collectability and mechanism- and of course status! If your wife or girlfriend ( in most cases both..) wear several £100k's on their wrist why can't you. Personally for $1.6m i would expect jesus to have made the mechanism!

Exclusivity, what a CHEAP easy way to justify certain prices...I find it below the status and respectability of makes like Vacheron. Harry Winston has done the same trick with some of their AWFUL watches, inflating the price beyond the laughable...

^ well everything at harry winstons has vastly inflated pricetags -even in comparison with the major jewellery brands. but collectors have the cash and willing to spend - so they can get away with it. personally i never find the uber-pricey watches appealing. if i were ever in a postion to spend major money on a watch i'd buy an esquisite vintage watch ( many of which reach over £30k)

My hubby has his great-great grandfather's pocket watch, a gold IWC from 187... anyway, so old that it does not figure in the make's official records which started later. Sadly it is impossible to use a pocket watch nowadays unless you wear a 3-piece suit, etc etc. It sits in its box but it is beautiful, and after 50 years of non-use, it was cleaned and runs smoothly. Quality for you.

Ive been itching for another new watch...I saw this Chopard on a friend of mine and I positvely adore it. The face is HUGE in person and really thick, but not in a over-the-top way.
