my latest object of lust ( watchwise...) has to be the limited JLC Reverso- with three faces!
"Reverso Triptyque, which made its U.S. debut at the party. The watch costs around $375,000 and has a tourbillon on its front face and a zodiacal calendar with an astronomical chart, an equation of time and sunrise and sunset times on the back face. The third face has a perpetual calendar in the Reverso carriage. Overall the watch has 18 complications, and has six patents pending

My favorite watchmaker is without a doubt Patek Phillippe. I am panting after their moon watches. Here is one I just adore! Timeless timepieces! Oh yes!
^agree with you about patek- but my absolute favorite is the patek 10 day tourbillon. Everything about this watch is perfect- and its the choice for the stealth wealth (over $300k and only recognised by thoise in the know...)
I think I'm getting a rolex pesident in gold for my birthday, dad has told me he would buy me a watch! =D I don't like the small ones though.. I want a men's one.
i will, really want this watch to be perfect. ;-) What are the difference for the men's mid size?
I don't want a giant men's watch, but a bit bigger than women's it makes the wrist look so dainty, it looks gorgeous with a simple black dress in the evening.
I must admit I'm a bit scared of thieves as I live in a large city.
But I will want to wear the watch everyday, I'm so sick of J12's I see so many teenagers aroud here with them, I wonder if they are fake? lol.
^ the gents midsize is proberly the best compromise if you find the womens rolexes too small. and i assure you the rolex president will never be considered dainty ( but beware any gold rolex makes an easy target for theft)
I strongly agree about the concerns with theft or being mauled on the street unnecessarily. I usually wear precious jewelry so I can hide it easily on the street, subway, clubs and such. Also, I adhere to Jackie-O's use of costume jewelry that is clearly uninteresting to thieves - and plastics/bakelite are my all time favorites for keeping the wolves at bay! Nothing worse than being given something precious and having someone steal it for... who knows what!
Oh, this is what happened, she was partying in meatpacking, walking to her car (at like 4am mind you) and some random guys pretty much told her to hand over the Rolly and the Range or else...
They were both insured, but money cant buy peace of mind, she now wears Toy Watches. Being ostentatious is not only tacky, but can get you hurt.
just seen a vintage patek from the early twenties that franck muller ripped off ( completly) for the conquisitor- quite rare priced at over £65k- if i had all the money in the world i would buy it for the novelty factor ( alas no...)
though Glashutte are pretty great- i was invited to tour the factory and they all seem so passionate about what they do ( they also get you pissed on the local saxony wine so you place an order...)
