It seems to me Daria Werbowy, Lara Stone, Natalia Vodianova, Jessica Stam, Agyness Deyn, Anja Rubik etc. always get the absolute best work with the best styling & always have the best/most creative campaigns?

IMO Ana Beatriz[one of my absolute favorites :(], Mona Johannesson,Ai Tomanaga tend to usually get the short end of the stick when it comes to editorials & such.

What do you guys think?:flower:

IMO, 2007 was Raquel's year, no model got more major campaigns than her, but I agree w/ you, Daria & Stam get a lot of great jobs, specially Daria, I don't agree so much about Natalia and Aggy, 1st because I don't think that the Armani campaigns are so important, Natalia did Calvin Klein and David Yurman, and a major US Vogue cover, any other big job, about Anja & Lara I think the quantity of work they got in 2007 is quite normal for a model in their level. Suvi is another girl who surprised me w/ the much work she got, specially taking the place of Coco & Hilary in Balenciaga.

In 2008 I bet in Meghan, Ali S, Isabeli & Kasia, IMO Meghan is the one who's going to be the next official face of Prada, I still hope that Trentini will get some major jobs, but I don't bet on her ...

i agree for the most part. Anja does get A LOT of work, but the level of it & prestige is average. Like a Chanel eyewear campaign,IMO isn't as prestigious as an actual Chanel campaign of a collection or haute couture gown. that's why it was major when she did ODL & Valentino.

Actually I was talking about the work she got in 2007, but anyway :D I think Anja got a lot of work for S/S 08, but the problem of Anja is that she doesn't get a lot of editorials in the major mags (Vogue US, UK, FR, IT, GR, V, Numéro), neither covers, IMO that's why she wouldn't get in a high level like Raquel, you probably think that I'm talking so much about Raquel because she's my favorite model nowadays but actually I'm not the kind of person who defends models just because I like them :D, back to the subject, I say a level as high as Raquel's because she is capable to get major campaigns and editorials and do major runway shows, the probably w/ Anja is the editorials, that I consider 50% of a model career because the editorials make a model known, but I don't think Anja will be able to handle the quantity of campaigns she did this season the next seasons ( like Trentini )

^ I must admit, Raquel definitely has some of the best work.

I don't know if this is just applying to females...

But by far one of my favorite male models is Owen Steuart. I sort of felt like he disappeared...many of you might have a different opinion, but I only see Owen here and there.

even though I dont always think they should get it,Raquel, natalia, Stam,Daria and Id say any of the US Vogue Girls, they seem to always get good work asisde from vogue editorials. Worst work Chanel Iman Id love to see her in something serious aside from runway._But a start was her ed in Jan US Vogue.

in terms of quality and relevance rather than prestige, I think Anne Catherine Lacroix gets some of the most absolute inspiring work in my opinion. it's almost like she picks it out herself. she's been really lucky to work with such good stylists.. maybe not the most commercial but certainly the groundbreaking bunch that challenge just about all the rest.
Malgosia Bela as well.. and it has nothing to do with the amount of time she's been around.. she's just been surrendered by some pretty talented artists.

bad work.... that's a tough one. maybe because I try to avoid looking at it and even when I do, it's usually as bad as it is forgettable. I think Milagros Schmoll has gotten some undeservingly bad editorials in the past and worked with such mediocre teams of photographers and stylists.. she's got enourmous potential but for some reason.. hasn't been introduced yet (except for JPG) to the right circle?.

Meghan Collison is another. she get lots of great eds in the highest fashion mags e.g. Vogue Italia. :innocent:

well, if u think of "best" work, do we mean best photos, most money, most coverage..?
cos editorial pays far less than campaigns for instance..

^no so much most money, just the best work meaning editorial/campaigns. you know, the best &/or most anticipated or just overall best as in working wth the best styling/photographers etc. ^_^

Sasha gets great work, editorials with talented photographers, the Prada campaign, she is casted for the biggest shows, covers in big magazines and somehow her work always seems to have great quality in terms of styling, concept, etc.

Bad work..umm Caroline Trentini's jumping eds from US Vogue.

that is so true! it's like they set her up for the US Vogue eds b/c that seems to be the only thing ppl know her for now :ninja:

Caroline did get a lot of great jobs in 2007, Meghan is one that is going to big, IMO it's very hard to try to guess which models will get the best jobs because now there's a new generation of models coming, models that will take place of Natasha, Raquel, etc.

I totally agree with you
for some reason, maybe management reasons, Milagros never got there...she never did all the shows, and her editorials were forgettable.
She even cut her hair now, and I thought it would be a hit, because many girls like Anja and Freja did that and it was a success, but No
she didnt get many shows, or campaigns

i wish someone could explain this factor

^but actually,IMO, freja got way better work when she actually had long hair.
Anja definitely got even better work, no doubt, with shorter hair. Seems like the
designers like her more that way :flower:

I'd love to see Kim Noorda get better work.and a perfume-cosmetics contract.such an underrated model!

Lara Stone seems to be doing the best lately, though I still don't see her appeal. If Karl likes her, everyone else will too. :innocent:

Kim Noorda has definitely always just been... simmering. She's been around for ages but hasn't quite hit paydirt yet. Maybe she'll pull an Anja or Raquel and randomly make it big?

I cannot STAND her, but I've never understood how Chanel Iman could get such enviable editorial work but hardly ever walk away with a major campaign.

I'm partial to Mona J and Ai, so I obviously agree that they don't get nearly the grade of work they should  I also feel like Georgia Frost is terribly underrated; maybe if Georgia May Jagger can parlay a career out of having the same bombshell quality as Lara, my Georgia can as well? I do hope the age of the slavic ice queens is melting away...
