White & Green tea

Organic green tea is fantastic, I have also been drinking rose tea for the past week and I can tell you that it is very yummy !

I've recently replaced coffee with green tea. I hope it's good for my system, because it's sure not doing much waking me up in the morning :P

Larita I find that it doesnt do much for waking me up either, so when I am trying to be good and replacing coffee with tea I just go for a cup of black tea (works a bit better than green!) and then have a cup of green tea or more!

Does anyone do loose tea? I always get it from teavana. It tastes so much better than bagged tea!!

Thanx, I'll check out black tea as well and I hope it works! :flower:
Is the flavour too strong? What can I add? (I usually have my green tea with a spoon of sugar)

I need to get back into my green teas again... all of this coffee is wrecking my teeth..& the whitestrips are losing the battle

it's sooo hard for me to get Peet's tea and bypass the java. i'm addicted:ninja:

My favorite GTs are Genmai Cha and Hubei Silver..

for Black ~ Lapsang Souchong, Ceylon and Masala Chai.

I have the twinnings loose tea as well and I find the green tea is delice! I tend to make a big pot of it drink cup after cup hehe. I think loose tea is always going to be better than any tea bag though, thats just how I have been raised (with a dad who is so passionate about loose teas!)

if you would like a bit of fruity aroma why dont you try lady grey teabags and then maybe with some sugar or sweetener?

For loose tea, you could also add dried apples, dried orange/lemon peels, or roses to the tea. Works best with white tea but I've done it with green tea before too and its delicious.

I just bought Bigelow Green Tea...Bigelow is the brand btw. Does it matter what brand it is? Are they all the same?

I use Liptin. I know a lot of people say it's crap, but it's quick and I love the taste:wub:. I drink 4 or 5 bottles a day. I honestly think I'm addicted, but at least it's to something that's good for me:lol:.

I'd like to start drinking green tea, because it has many health benefits. I just don't know how to start, I've tried it few times, but it was so bitterly (so I really hope I could get used to it).:yuk:
Which brand do you recommend? Are filters okay?
I'm total beginner in this and I need some advice on starting this routine.

green tea should not be bitter-this is just a sign that it has brewed for too long. i suggest maybe start with tea bags that way you dont have to worry about how much tea to put in etc but you just gotta dip in your tea bag until the water becomes a light yellow colour and take it out-i dont think green tea should brew as long as black tea.

Steep the green tea in 175 degree (Fahrenheit) water for about a minute. It gets bitter if the water is too hot or steeped for too long. :flower:

Surely the more bitter the more health benefits? Potency

When I first started drinking green tea I used to put a little honey in it.

We have actually great selection of loose green teas at home, I didn't know that. So I bought this one from Teekanne too:

I'm having a cup of Teekanne tea right now and it's actually very good. I soaked tea bag in 100°C about 3 minutes.:flower:

Thanks everyone!
