Whitney Port

Whitney Port 2010-10-27 - shopping at Between The Sheets furniture store on Robertson Blvd (celebrity-paradise).

It's such a shame she doesn't get nearly as much covers as other reality tv stars. Lauren and Olivia have yet to produce a decent cover and photoshoot combination... yet, they get tonsof covers... Whitney has so much potential IMO...

Here is my spread from GRAZIA Middle East. I'm so pleased with the final results, especially since you can see Paigey in the first image!! She had to help me keep my balance when I got in that backbend position, which she did by crawling under the dress and holding me up. See that hump right there?! That's Paige haha. So funny!
xoxo, Whit

Whitney doesn't market herself well at all, just because somebody is able to bend and shape themselves in black and white photos it hardly qualifies them as deserving a cover, imo. Lauren and Olivia can say people have seen influenced by their sense of style. They always have clean and polished looks and manage to look great when running errands. Whitney is all over the place in both her style and career path. She is easily replaceable and quite easily forgotten at times.

Mattel's Ken gets his own Web series

Webisodes fuel relaunch of Barbie's ex

Mattel is about to put the spotlight on Ken, the former beau of Barbie, giving the doll his own online reality series, "Genuine Ken: The Search for the Great American Boyfriend," to be hosted by "The Hills" and "The City's" Whitney Port.
The series, which bows exclusively on Hulu starting Jan. 18, will become the latest media property that showcases Ken after his high-profile role in Pixar and Disney's "Toy Story 3," this summer and now on DVD, and leads into next year's 50th anniversary of the character.
A redesign of the Ken doll is in the works to go along with the recent launch of his Facebook page and Twitter feed, and he'll have a bolstered presence in upcoming animated DVD movies. All of the activity is the first big push for the character since he broke up with Barbie on Valentine's Day in 2004.
"He's getting a makeover to make sure he's still as culturally and visually relevant as Barbie is," said Stephanie Cota, senior VP of Mattel Girls' brands. "He's getting a little work done to get ready for his 50th anniversary."
Hudsun Media (Bravo's "Pregnant in Heels") is producing the reality show, which will unspool over eight 22-minute episodes. Once Hulu runs through the episodes, it will eventually be distributed to other dot-coms.
Hudsun CEO Michael Rourke and Max Benator, VP of digital for the shingle, exec produce with Lauren Stevens.
In the reality show, eight men between the ages of 21 and 30 will compete in a series of elimination challenges to prove that they possess Ken's qualities in order to be "the ultimate boyfriend for every occasion," including being able to surf, design, have a sense of fashion and show a romantic side.
Mattel said creating original content for the Internet is the latest entertainment effort, outside the TV shows, made-for-DVD features, videogames and events to get the Barbie brand in front of more consumers.
In this particular case, Mattel hopes to attract older auds to Barbie.
"With a 50-year history, you have people who have been embracing (Barbie and Ken) from day one," Cota said. While those consumers may never buy another doll, they may buy a T-shirt with Barbie on it or a Ken-themed bow tie. The digital series "is a great way for us is to have grownup girls and boys stay connected to the brand," Cota added

I think she has a small window here to get something going for herself; she could easily get to the 'what ever happened to' point in a few months.... :(

I think she loves the attention and that is more egocentric than Olivia, and the whole cast together. She loves papparazzi and all that cr##p!
no wonder why she is trying to get anything to stay on tv

^ But what can she really do without The Hills/City behind her? I mean, she isn't that beautiful or anything and her personality is sort of boring...I wonder if the fashion thing is a real possibility- usually a big chunk of money is needed to make that happen...very big!

^ Yes...I think these 'reality' shows are a trap for a lot of the people...They get so much attention for a short time and then- nothing at all...It's sad really, it reminds me of the pro athletes- half of them end up owning a bar somewhere...A big reality TV show basically prepares you for nothing..Look at her buddies Heidi and Spencer- that has turned into a very sad thing... I hope Whitney can find something now that The City is gone...

^yes that's true!you have to be very clever and try to do smart moves to handle the whole "watch me-i'm in a tv show" thing and get some real benefit from it. Olivia and L.C are the perfect examples!
and i feel quite sorry for Whitney because when the hills started i used to like her,a lot

^ Yes, I liked her when The City started, but there didn't seem to be a whole lot of depth there after a while...:(

and not that nice when meeting her... I can tell..
she thinks she's THE star/celeb..
whatever... I just loved the show!

^ Amazing, isn't it? Man, what a rude awakening when the show is cancelled and the paps can't be bothered anymore because no one wants to see your picture...

'Genuine Ken: The Search for the Great American Boyfriend'...?

Such a terrible title and - if the reference is to a plastic creation famous for dating Barbie - Whitney is sure going to be disappointed when her new man's trousers come down!

This show is not going to bomb because it's just a web series... Whitney is being smart about having a career in the entertainment industry... she probably wants to do some hosting (which she has talked about in the past) and she is doing this show for experience and build up her resume.

She is also hosting the American Music Awards along with 3 other people. Whitney is quite smart... unlike LC or Olivia, she actually went to COLLEGE and graduated. She is quite likeable to most of Americans who watched The Hills/City... and has some relevence in the fashion industry. So her future is bright. I think she is trying a few things to make money, diversify her CV and also because she has the opportunities. I could see her hosting a tv show a la Elizabeth Hasselbach in the future... or maybe work for a magazine... AT LEAST SHE FINISHED COLLEGE...

Her dad company produces her line... so it could go on forever because there is no pressure to start turning a profit.

How? There is no proof... Whitney is not like the Kardashian tramps (or Olivia Palermo for that matter) who attend any and every events... set up the paparazzi for their publicity or dressed up with full makeup on a daily basis...

She attends fashion related events or events that she is paid good money to host. She also does tons of charity work...

I think you guys are being too harsh on her and giving her a label that is not warranted at all
