Who are your least favorite designers?

Walter Van Beirendonck, I just hate the gaudiness of his clothing, last time I browsed through his shop, I saw a bright green tails jacket with it's shawl collar covered in Hungarian flower embroidery... YUCK!! May I also suspect him to brainwash his students to do equally 80ies-trash inspired clothing?

On the contrary, tricot,he's been nothing if not a masterful instructor. Not to mention the designers that have passed through the door of his atelier, over the years. The only influence I can see he's had is to be creative and completely original. Esoteric, even. Just look Jurgi Persoons' work. I think it's possibly more to do with the Bernhard effect on many of Antwerp's students.

hahaha...cavalli is for footballers wives...good call!

Kors is extreamly boring to me, he only intrests me when he is on Project Runway
Versace is also boring....there is a difference between having a signature look and being repetative AND stuck in 1992
Ralph Lauren is classic, but he too is a bit of a bore...why, why must he make another monogramed blazer??

Prada-stealing ideas and concepts from those lesser known has and will always make me despise her.

all his pretence is making me itchhh

Only
John Galliano

:brows:

Write everyone down from NYC Fashion Week (except Ralph Lauren) and there it is. ^_^

Am I the only one who actually likes Proenza Schouler's clothing? Aye--tough crowd..

I vote for Chanel-for men..It's basically the same as the womenswear line, but just in a more masculine fit...Sorry, it just doesnt work IMO..

Im also going to say Gareth Pugh...But, he is young & new, so I wont totally discredit him...Dont agree how iD magazine practically considers him the next best thing in British fashion..

boring in the sense that their aesthetic is very much overt - luxurious, sexual, body-concious. some things don't need to be too overtly revealed in order to be understood. i just thappen to think there's zero subtlety involved in the clothing.

^Agreed..... I have nothing against sexy, provocative clothing but it just seems as if there's no thought put into the design and the overall tack of the design gives off the opposite effect of sexy in the end.

I don't really consider Versace sexy anyway...more so delving into the pits of grotesque sleaze. And you're right,no thought at all.

gius, like this whole artsy/craftsy thing she's been doing....there's a few indies that have been doing this for some time and all of a sudden it's become her mantra....but it's the aesthetics of it all...it all looks suspiciously and consistently borrowed from those lesser knowns. Not to mention, some of these gimmicky quirky accessories she's done....too much like Bernhard and Marjan, imo.

^I was gonna say those robot keyrings are very Marjan Pejoski....... or at least, it's a similar kind of aesthetic....

If you are counting Juicy as "designer"...Juicy. It's the tackiset brand. It's overpriced and the quality is terrible. I really do not like Dior anymore. It's a brand with such a rich history. Now there's no class present in the collections at all. I don't like Yohji Yommahoto or any designers that are really over the top like Viktor and Rolf. I pretty much love everything else though.

I dislike Cavalli, Jeremy Scott, Donatella Versace, Jennifer Lopez, and Michael Kors (execpt he is hilarious on Project Runway).

I have a definite love/hate relationship with Marc Jacobs and John Galliano (but right now I hate them more than I love them).

I think Galliano goes over the top for pure shock value, but his 06 F/W couture show wasn't that bad.

Marc Jacobs is very overhyped and I hated his 06 F/W show.

Heatherette, Baby Phat, and Sweetface. I *can* tolerate many others, but I can not stand these three.
