Yasmin Sewell new consultant buyer at Browns

BROWNS, South Molton Street, has announced that Yasmin Sewell (Yasmin Cho) has succeeded Yeda Yun as its consultant buyer. Since giving up her chic Poland Street boutique, Sewell has been in Australia playing personal shopper to some of its best dressed ladies.

This is fab news! I think Yasmin has a great eye!

Remember that small shop located on the second or third floor of some building on Poland Street? It got alot of press in 2000,actually because of the shop's intimacy and also her eye for interesting designers.

She stocked everything from Susan Cianciolo,Jurgi Persoons,Carol Christian Poell,Josephus Thimister to Alain Tondowski.

No. She closed it in 2001 or '02,I believe. Then she went back to Sydney where's she's originally from. Don't know why she closed it exactly as she had quite a reputable showing of clients. Including celebs such as Kylie Minogue,for instance. So I doubt it had much to do with sales figures.

One can only(hope)assume her eye will gravitate in similar direction at Browns. Perhaps,not quite as avant-garde as Pineal Eye but certainly there will be a certain off-the-beaten-track feel about it.

I think Focus would be very much her niche. As there's an even more formidable sense of quirkiness there.

Not surprising about Yun. From what I've been seeing it would have appeared she was going down that path of banality.
