Do you mind me asking what you think it took for you to reach Superstar status? Just wondering, because I've read YOOX is inconsistent in regards to that..

This was the first such email I've received. I'm not exactly sure how I qualified. I've made about 30 orders in the last year. Most were for one or two items, but I've ordered some suits and jackets that have probably bumped up my totals. I've never returned anything. I'm not sure if that would count in their mystery formula.

This is unfair! I also received e-mail from them and got renewal of my Superstar status, but they didn't give me this 15% off this time! Anyway, this might not be such a bad thing since I really need to save some extra money to pay off my credit card bill now.

Usually it's one year old stuff. That is, the current F/W mostly consists of items from the 05/06 collections. Some items are also older--for instance, a Helmut Lang hoodie I recently received was produced in '99--but everything is of course 'new' and there's no seconds.

Also, do they take of the VAT like luisaviaroma, for orders outside of the EU?

They have staggered discounting. It usually starts at 10-15% off and eventualy gets to 65-75% off. I'd assume they'll start discounting the Fall stuff by early September. Sometimes they'll send out codes to get early discounts. For example, there was a brief period earlier this summer when the S/S stuff was 50% off if you entered a code.

I don't know how the VAT works through yoox, but for me, ordering in the US, I pay exactly what's listed on the site. I've never been charged duty or anything similar after the fact. Someone who has more experience with these taxes can probably give a better explanation of this.

Thanks for the info... i heard the yoox is pretty hard to get deals on casue all the good stuff gets snapped up by the VIPS before the sales go public.. but i will keep my fingers crossed...

Lament for the clumsy, undiscovered yoox

Remember the days when you wouldn't find a label on the drop-down list unless there were like more than 10 items available from it, and you had to do some awkward back-door type search to find anything with less than that? When yoox showed up on the 870th page of google fashion bargains search results? When at least 75% of your dreambox would last til some kind of markdown or discount code came your way, and at least 50% til hefty markdowns? My dreambox is nearly decimated without reduction numero uno. I want the old days back!

Yoox misplaces the stuff all the time. I particularly remember when they put up a pair of butt ugly Richmond jeans (literally, as it said 'RICH' on the butt) as 'Dior Homme', which then sold out promptly..

I've never had anything wrong sent to me that's ridiculous.

it's always nice to remember the ol days but I'm happy the selection is better. I guess you can't have it both ways.
