You know a trend is out when...

When people in this oh-so-wonderfully-fashionable city of Toronto wear it. Literally 1/300 people here have decent taste. Several people have never heard of Chanel. Abercrombie/American Eagle/those types of stores are considered respectable brands at the top fashion. There's this girl who is known throughout my school for being obsessed with fashion and she didn't know who KARL LAGERFELD is.

I usually just stay way from certain trends and just wear what I feel fits my style.

It's rare that a trend can become classic.

I think most trends can take 2-4 years before they become mainstream. I've noticed alot of threads on here regarding trends that are hot right now among the mainstream public were created back in 2006-2007.

Your mom, middle aged co-workers, and great aunt Bea make their attempts to pull it off.

  Thats funny. IMO when some girls do not have the morphology or body type but yet still are trying to force the issue.

I think that you can still be fashionable and know about fashion when you aren't model size. It's just how you adapt the trends to your size.

when your 50 year old boss and his 50 year old wife and their 6 year old kids wear it and ask about it and where to buy it. :)

The "name" of it is translated into my native language in my home country

Have you ever been to Yorkville/the Annex?

To answer the question, when the jocks start to wear them. With the exception of the pink golf shirt of 2003, which they wore for a day and still ruined.

I don't understand you all saying "when it become easy to find, thats when a trend is out" etc ???!!! Isn't the point of a trend the fact that lots of people are wearing it, thus it trending - being seen a lot. A trend can't be seen on only one person. It totally defeats the point!

To ME a trend is out, when it isn't seen anywhere and no-one is wearing it.

When my 56 year old mother shows up in skinny jeans and heels and asks me if I think she can pull off x trend. She was cute, though.
