The_Ida I wonder the same thing all the time. I also don't trust in the "more ecological brands" for sunscreen. In the consumer tests that I've seen, these kind of brands never have good ratings. (I saw one that used a Weleda sunscreen and the spf on the label was almost half to the real spf. WTF?). I known a lot of people here in the forum likes the Devita sunscreen...but I don't really trust them (sorry
). I keep reading over and over again in reviews and forums that is not very effective and that people tanned/almost got burnt with this
.
Besides avoid irritating plant extracts and essential oils here's what I do:
-Apply sunscreen every morning to every exposed area (I don't pay much attention to the spf, I care about ppd rating or zinc oxide percentage). The sunscreen that I apply on my neck, chest and back is also non-comedogenic. I don't use formulas with strong fragances (I don't like walking around smelling like Avene or Bioderma sun products
).
-If I spend a long time outdoors, I reapply sunscreen every 2 hours (I dislike doing this so much, that I avoid spending a long period outside-I am so lazy
!)
-In the end of the day I remove the sunscreen with a cleanser and apply Lysalpha cicapeel 2-3x a week
-ZERO moisturizer...they always give me pimples
-Never try more than one face product during one week, because my skin is acne-prone and sensitive
-Any shower gel (that is not a exfoliating one) will do
-I apply moisturizer to my body maybe...once a year
, to hands and lips 2x a week...I always forget to use it
...No wonder I never finished a moisturizer in my life
-I exfoliate my feet...twice a year
Hair:
-Shampoo: Pantene for curly hair (2-3x a week)
-Conditioner: Pantene for curly hair (2-3x a month
...I have no patience to use them
-I only get one haircut once a year (and that's the only time I go to the hairdresser...I also have no patience for this
)
- I don't even own a hairdryer or any other heating tool and the last time I straightned my hair was more than 10 years ago (too much effort and did not last very long)
- I don't brush my hair when it is dry, I use a comb or my fingers
- In the morning, I only use a spray or a styling mousse for curly hair after combing my hair and I am ready to go
- I never dyed my hair and I don't plan to until I get white hairs
RESULT: I never get damaged hair or splited ends
Makeup
-No makeup - because my skin is very acne-prone and I have NO skill (even applying mascara is hard for me...ah, ah, ah)
I also eat healthy. But in the exercise and stress management department I have a lot to improveB).
