 do you think is too much for youre skin...?I think simplier(less products) is better.

hi to all
i have normal to oily skin (but not very oily)kind a mixed skin
i am addicted to beauty products ,and i always want to try something new,just taste it and leave it after a short time.in a moment i am using;
-loreal`s PURE ZONE cleanser every other night
i wash my face with-PENATEN -camomille baby wash every morning
moisturize it with Sheller ananas cream -german natural cosmetic cream for problem skins
-biotherm-antistress eye cream, every week pure zone scrub and peel mask wich makes my skin very clear,I also use a origins -never a dull moment scrub which i dont like sooo much ,and out of trouble- mask from origins
-i also use the labello-sun lipbalm all the time.

Contesteth ye not Alejandro's skin routine - he's cosmetic 133t.

Simple regime as im never keen to try different skin/hair care products.

Morning

Oil of Ulay daily renewal cleanser
Oil of Ulay daily renewal toner
Oil of Ulay moisturiser with sunscreen

Evening

L'oreal hydrafresh facial cleanser

Two - five times a week i use St Ives facial scrub (normal for two days of the week) Sensitive for the rest of the week.

I NEVER wash my face with hot or warm water - always freezing cold and cold(helps eliminate open pores).

The facial scrub helps to eliminate spots and blackheads.

Alejandro

I too have horrible bags under my eyes which is also hereditary. I have tried everything to reduce the bags(except sleep) so i shall try your recommended cream.

Heh, I have terrible black-rings...it's because I'm a reformed party-animal...

I also reccomend using hemmorhoid cream for undereye puffiness.. It's a miracle worker for the undereye area; a supermodel's secret

I use Neutrogena Deep Clean Scrub at night when i shower, and Clinique 3-Step every day in the morning.

Ooh--skincare-talk!!!

I use Dermalogica's line for a cleanser, toner & moisturizer and exfoliator...Their Oil-Control Lotion is the ONLY moisturizer Ive come across that's great for oily skin, in the sense that it feels very light & doesnt feel greasy or heavy on my face, or make my face look like Ive been bobbing for french-fries on a hot, summer day...I'll also add a very very light layer of MAC's tinted moisturizer w/ an SPF15 (Im an esthetician--leaving the house w/o an SPF is, like, such a sin!), just to even out my complexion...I also use an undereye cream from Yonka, which works wonders for dark circles and quickly erases that "rough night" look...For a mask, I use an algae-based custom-blended mask from one of the spas down here...For shaving, I dont believe in using high-end products from Sephora or anything like that...For my shaving needs, that I'll just go to the local pharmacy..The Neutrogena shaving cream works best for me..but of course I'll follow up w/ a slather of TendSkin, just to reduce the redness...and for the final touch, the piece-de-resistance--a quick dip of MAC's tinted lip conditioner in Petting Pink, just to give my lips a hint of color (they call it "tinted lip conditioner"..I call it plain old lip-gloss)..

I wash my face with cool-to-warm water in the shower, exfoliate twice a week, and slap on lotion twice a day. That's my skin care routine. Seems to work for me. My face is dry, if anything, so hydrating is the most essential thing I can do. I've never had acne/pimple problems, thank the heavens.

And wow, talk about a BUMP. I just looked back at my post from 2003. :woot:

what's your skin routine

It seems like people around here are pretty knowledgable when it comes to skin products and what not. So, I'm interested to know what are you guys using on a regular basis? And what have your experiences been with the products you're using so far?

I'm using neutrogena extra gentle face wash - it's pretty good, very gentle but gets all my makeup off very well.
And cetaphil moisterizor - it's very heavy so a little goes a long way. Again it's very gentle so I like it since I've got fairly sensitive skin.

morning:
wash with lukewarm water
finish off with ice cold water
pat dry and apply dermalogica oil control lotion

night:
same as morning but i use the dermalogica skin smoothing cream instead of the oil control lotion

every few days i use the dermalogica skin refinining masque

i like dermalogica in case you can't tell:innocent:

morning - "aqua" glycolic face wash (get it at your local drugstore..it is the best for very very sensitive skin) + perricone firming facial activator + cleocin-T lotion (prescription..i have terrible acne when i don't use this) + makeup..

night - same face wash + retin-A micro + cleocin-T lotion

my skin = sensitive, combination, acne prone, prone to hyperpigmentation, breaks out with 99% of products out there, turns red with any exposure to anything..guh! but this routine is what has worked best for me..

i find the perricone stuff works really well as a primer for anybody who also breaks out when they use regular primers ^_^

morning : Shu Uemura green tea cleansing oil
Sekkisei as a toner
SKII treatment essence (great for pepping up skin)
SKII signs uplifter serum
SKII signs treatement
Shiseido Anessa sunblock

Night:
same cleansing oil+Lancome absolute eye cream+all of the above except the sunblock and Vaseline for my lips

Once weekly: SKII signs treatment mask (great for hydrating and illuminating skin, I swear by it!) and Origins Never A Dull Moment Facial Scrub.

I am a SKII fiend...but it has definitely worked wonders for my skin

What would you guys recommend for facial cleanser and moisturizer? I don't really like the products I'm using right now. My skin is quite sensitive. It's also very clear, but not naturally so. I break out easily if oil gets on my skin. My brother, a medical student, said dermatologists agree that all of these creams and so forth people use to keep their skin clear don't work. That sort of disheartened me. :(

It sounds like we have the same skin. :( Mine is SOOOOOO sensitive. It likes to get red and inflamed-looking and "tight"/tender if I apply the wrong products which seems like 99% of the stuff out there. I always used cleansing products that you could buy at Wal-Mart since those are affordable but now I splurge on skin care. I used Cetaphil for awhile and that was my favorite otc but it didn't give me a clean feeling. My ex's cousin is a makeup artist and she recommended Kiehl's products. I really like Kiehl's "Calendula alcohol-free" toner. It's extremely pricey and I have to go to Atlanta to buy it, but it's the only makeup thing I really have, so I don't mind. www.kiehls.com

What are you using right now?

I don't like ALL Kiehl's products, though. For example, I hate their oatmeal wash. It takes ages to remove and still makes me red. I'm not in love with the face masques, either.

Right now I'm using this Japanese bar soap that I don't know the name of that I bought in Taiwan. It gets my skin clean-feeling really fast, but I'm sure you're supposed to use soap-free stuff if you have sensitive skin.

I do not like Shisheido anything and would not recommend it :(, not even their sensitive skin products. Within 30 minutes my skin hurt a lot, got really red, and broke out in red spots and bumps that looked like teeny-tiny acne. It took almost a month to fade.

My brother, a medical student, said dermatologists agree that all of these creams and so forth people use to keep their skin clear don't work. That sort of disheartened me. :(

Oh no. Which products did he mean specifically? Does he mean prescription stuff or otc stuff? I only use Clearasil as needed. I don't know if it helps speed up a life span of a zit.

I wonder if a certain type of pale/fair skin is naturally extremely sensitive because my brother is olive-skinned, tans easily, and rarely gets zits. His skin is extremely hardy. Even if he does gets a big zit it's gone in 2 days and the spot/discoloration doesn't last long.

Thanks for the advice, Galviggo! :flower::heart:

Is this the same Kiehl's product?:
http://www.smartskincare.com/reviews/product/clean_other_kiehls_tea-tree-toner_20040918.html

It sounds good. I might try it out! Would you recommend their moisturizer as well? I looked up Cetaphil and it seems to also get rave reviews:
http://www.smartskincare.com/reviews/product/brandidx/cetaphil/
Maybe I'll try that first and move on to Kiehl's if it doesn't work. I wish I could get free samples of these pricey products! It's so annoying buying an expensive bottle of something without knowing if it will even work on your face.

My brother is the same way! His skin is deep olive, and nothing seems to irritate it. As far as I know he only uses regular, drugstore soap on his face. I'm not sure how seriously to take his comment because he tends to scoff at anything he considers vaguely vain or girly. He said pill-form acne medications like Proactiv are supposed to work, but not the creams. I've done some research online and there is a lot of debate about the effectiveness of beauty products. If you want more scientific recommendations, you should check out this site I just discovered:
