Your Favorite Dior Show

I'd suggest anyone who loves this thread check out this interview for ShowStudio.com that Galliano did for his 5 year anniversary at Dior. There are clips discussing something about each one of his couture shows between s/s 97 and f/w 01.

One of my recent favorites is the f/w 97 Haute Couture collection. I never really payed much attention to it back when firstview still had all the old Dior shows up, but then I saw it all again on Corbis back in the summer and fell in love.

It's all very Belle Epoque, major corsetry, art nouveau details, touches of the Maharajahs of India, Mata Hari, Toulouse Lautrec.....it all seems so random but it's very coherent, it really stuck to one period and made it something new.

^ That was a combination of Galliano's own "Siouxsie Sphinx" collection for f/w 97 RTW and his Alma-Tadema inspired collection for s/s 99.

I don't see what is so 'genius' about throwing a dead animal over one's head, but that's beside the point.
OK, and that's your opinion. Thanks for sharing. I think wearing the carcass of a wolf in the fashion Galliano created it was/is fabulous, and yes, genius.

My favorite out of his couture shows would be SS07. I remember being in awe at how well he did the Madame Butterfly theme. FW06 gets a mention because I loved the armor!

Favorite RTW would definitely be SS06.

Spring s/s06HC- It was soo vivid and dark It actually scared me the first time I watched it.It was at night(3:00am) and the soundtrack was talking about the bible and all that.Of course I got over it but still to this say the drama that came out of that show still gets me inspired
S/s06-thats what I base all collections on, probably because it was the first show I watched on the site

wow that is gorgeous .. i love all these shows ...not the cruise 2008. i hate that show ..quelle horerreur
