chic_chick- definitely the taupe! it's a gorgeous year round color, imho! i imagine the taupe to be the most gorge after it's broken in and slouchy. mmm! that will be delish! the white is super nice, but a bit played out for me, and it's also a bag that you need to love. if you have any doubt about the white muse, you aren't a white muse person, you know? for some people it just pops like crazy and they HAVE to have it, but if you have any reservations, i'd say go with taupe.

that taupe is a GREAT shade of taupe and exactly what i picture when i think of the color. some "taupe" bags are too dark or light, but this one is right on.

thanks for the input demarish, aspen and thesiren! yea, now that i think of it, seems like everyone has white .. hmm.. maybe taupe is a limited colour??? i'll put an order in as soon as LVR replies me with delivery cost, etc... ughhh... it's so annoying! been waiting a week for their reply n sent them 2 emails! i thought they'd want some business!

chic- all the answers by people are based on what they like. You have to ask yourself what do you like? Do you want wa black bag...or do you wear brown more...or are you looking for a color like orange or red. Or do you want a summer color neutral.

chic_chick - it is the medium. I measured it approx 15" long at the bottom and 10" high. I was torn between the black and olive. Since I don't have many black bags, I picked it. I really like the white one too. A great summer bag. I don't remember seeing the taupe. The taupe you could use all year. Can't go wrong with either choice but I like the white better. The black and white patents were really tempting and I'm not a big fan of patent. They just look better on this bag. Maybe its the leather. But they are nice looking in person.

demarish - If your thinking of returning it you may want to get the large size insead. There is about - 3" difference between the med and large and if your going from an XL the medium may seem to small. I almost got the large but I needed a smaller bag. The XL is just to big for me. The handles look unproportional.

yup! thanks guccigal!... i always can't make up my mind (as usual), i've got 3black, 1light blue, 2dark brown , just thinking of adding white or taupe to my wardrobe both colours do match what i wear coz i'm basically all black n denim! it makes the decision harder when new colours come out.

but i definately have enough of dark bags taupe seems like a good inbetween besides it's mostly sunny here down under orange or red isn't good for my skin colour

bottom line, it's hard to pick just one!

the shade of taupe ysl used for this bag blends seamlessly with both black and brown.

The SA at YSL completely lied to me because he wanted the sale so bad. He told me the white muse was only made in the large and oversized.

I am not sure that is a lie. I think the only ppl that ordered the white medium(small) was neimans and saks.com

well I have the oversized so I don't think the large is too big. do you like big bags? do you want it to hold alot and take to work, etc etc or just like a shopping going out bag?

If your still very undecided you can do what I did for the large bbag a while ago, make cutouts! I dont know the measurements but I know they've been listed here several times so you can use those to make cardboard cutouts of the two sizes and then see how they look on you.

I might suggest the medium (small for you) still holds alot and its more compact. are you in the USA? call around to saks and neimans.

I know Neiman Marcus northpark has alot of YSL....try Neimans SHort hills

actually go to saks.com and type this item number 0413632342569 its the medium they have.

you can call the saks.com reps and give them that number and ask if any stores have the white. they can look it up and tell you where to call!

Chic - according to the saks website the large is 13"H X 17"L X 4"W
and the medium 9½"H X 14"L X 2"W . I measured mine at its longest point (at the bottom) at 15". I haven't found measurements on the XL so maybe someone who has one here can measure it. There is quite a difference between the L and XL. It depends on where they measure since the bag tapers.

Imp - I think the med is great for shopping, going out. The large for work and the XL for traveling. But thats just my opinion.

but with balenciagas the bags are kinda floppy instead of rigid in shape.

I think you can't go wrong with the medium or the large. the medium is still really nice. holds your wallet, a small phone, cell, make up case, keys etc etce with more room to give.

so if you don't want a really big bag for work or travel or if you like big bags like I do...medium is great!

The Medium white Muse was available at YSL boutiques. I purchased mine at the NYC 57th Street boutique.

I have to disagree on the Large=City b-bag and the Oversized=Work b-bag comparison. The Large Muse is MUCH bigger and holds far more than the City bag does. I think the City holds slightly more than the Medium, and is much closer in capacity size to that bag.

Hi everyone, I know I hadn't posted here for a while. Anyways, I ended up declining the pink ostrich Muse in large because I found it too big for me. However, the people at YSL Beverly Hills are soooo incredibly nice!! Not only were they not mad that I declined the bag (yes, I've dealt with other namebarnd boutiques where sales people got mad at me for declining something), they continued to follow-up with me and find out from me what I was looking for. It's AMAZING!! Seriously, I think I've had the BEST customer service ever at YSL Beverly Hills.
