YSL Muse

I just bought my first Muse today! An oversize in oak! I love it so much!!! Its gorgeous and the size is phenomenal! I love big bags and this is just so great. I promise to post pictures as soon as I can find my darn camera.

Today at YSL 57th Street they had
- Black Patent
- Olive
- Oak
- Chocolate
- White
- White Crock (divine, I had to be torn away from it)
- Black

I didn't see any red though. The SA told me they had literally just gotten oak and when I had called two days ago they said they wouldn't be getting it for another two weeks! So I think the colors are coming in quicker than anticipated. Oak is divine. Its lighter than the chocolate and warmer. There is a reddish undertone. Much more of a true brown than chocolate which is almost black in tone. I tried both and oak was just it for me. The leather is gorgeous, I love the subtle texture it has. Its perfect! I cannot wait to wear it tomorrow! So excited

I will double check tomorrow if you'd like. I know I saw a Muse in an olive green color being purchased by another woman. I also saw a Yse satchel in the same green color as well. I'll make sure its the olive from Fall.

The patent muse was very nice, it was a much subtler patent than the Fendi B bags. More of an elegant sheen than the full on wet look. It also appeared to have a bit of texture to it. Very unique I don't think I've seen a patent quite like it before. The one I saw didn't appear to be in the oversize though, it looked like the size smaller.

wow that is a total shock the oak is in so early and the black patent too. that is nuts. great that means YSL is going to be calling soon.

i really can't believe they have the patent and oak already. i am about to go the trunk show this monday just to drool over the bags let alone have the opportunity to buy them! is it only NYC who has received them thus far?

luxx - sort of stupid question for you, but is there a trunk show going on a the ysl store you went to today? i was thinking the black patent and oak are just part of the trunk show collection and that you just happened to be at YSL during the trunk show days.

You know I'm not entirely sure. I stopped by around 4 and there didn't seem to be a trunk show going on but there were alot of people coming in and out going through the different rooms. Its quite possible that it was a trunk show day that I stumbled onto. At the very least I know they must have recieved a shipment very recently since when I called two days ago I was told that oak wouldn't be in stock for another couple of weeks. My friend who called yesterday about fall colors was told the same thing. I'm guessing alot of what I saw had literally just hit the floor. They had alot of bags and I believe I spotted some new shoes as well.

The trunk show at the YSL boutique on 57th and Fifth was last Friday.

The white croc and the grey croc are TDF!

maybe they are getting a few in to sell. I know a YSL NYC got a few size ranges of the DADA early...and I nabbed one...the rest of the YSL USA stores including NYC got the full size in like a month later...so maybe they are letting a few out to get interest or something?

Thanks for the report! did you like the patent more than the regular leather? I'm still debating matte vs. patent white...

I'll be in Paris June 11th through July 15th with my sister and her new husband (he's from Paris). I have NEVER been to Paris and they are NOT shoppers.

Do you think I'll have a better chance of getting a red Muse while I'm there? Red is no longer available for pre-order on Saks.com. Also, can anyone suggest where to look or who to call while I'm in Paris aside from the obvious YSL boutique?

Glad to hear the fall colors are coming in early. Maybe I can nab a red one here in L.A. before my trip .

bookitty....haha thanks! I am anxiously awaiting morning so I can call around and find out what the deal with the patent and oak being out already. Something is odd. It has to be like a mini release or something. I am confused. I will call. I will know.
