While I don't like this as much as the Mombasa or Vincennes I do think it would make for a practical and chic everyday bag and the XL looks perfect for travel. I've been looking for a nice travel bag and this could be it ::fingers crossed::

i agree with brian...this didn't strike me as a travel bag at all...it just appears bigger in pictures...this is more of a everyday bag.

Oh well, guess its not for me. Thought it might make a nice carry on but I guess not. Still like to take a look at it myself though, I still like the overall look.

Liked it but it's way to big for my 5'2 frame. Maybe the smaller size. Liked the one with the woven leather bits. (i know those have a different name but it's escaped me)

im 5'2 and it's huge on me but i still love it so much. i tried the smaller and it's not oomphy enough.

true! the smaller styles i tried on had more design or was in a diff colour (brown) which helped though. but yes, they definitely lacked the charm of the Muse.

lol, morriseel, the muse really isn't that bad. its just that the topic title compares the muse to the mombasa, so it's difficult to compliment the muse. lol i agree that the muse is nice, plain, well crafted, and it most likely won't become super trendy which is good. congrats on your bag!

p.s. if anyone was wondering, i just checked the ysl website, and the mombasa is still being produced.

Thanks apple. I really like it, i'ts a great bag for me, especially since i travel alot. I was in YSL S'pore yesterday and they said that the stocks are almost depleted WORLDWIDE! They are trying to get another shipment to satisfy demand but just can't get their hands on any more. Apparently huge demand in the States has sucked them all out of the handbagosphere!

ps. The sa told me the mombasa has been renamed (cos of their new designer), but can't remember the name. So, technically there's no mombasa anymore though of course it looks almost exactly the same!

oh please try to remember , i think it is quite difficult after all these years & succes of the Mombasa ....i Pilati should introduce a new design instead of a new name..

i just checked the look book which had both pics of a 'Mombasa small hobo crocodile' and a 'Mombasa small hobo ostrich'. other styles featured were the 'Muse Oversized Bugatti buffalo' and 'Yris top zip hobo chevrette'. hmm...

miss, I believe the muse comes in chocolate brown, tan, bronze, beige and ivory. It comes in oversized (XL), large, and medium/small (some stores are calling this size medium, other stores are calling it small). You can see the three different sizes and various colors at:
