^well white patent may be pretty, but everyone says that white patent has a tendency to yellow, though no one has had a white patent muse long enough to know how it ages.

I'm also thinking cleaning and maintenace will be better on the Ivory Leather in the long run...but the patent is sooooo striking! I'll go down again to the boutique again and take a second look.

I know exactly how you feel. I'm pining for a patent muse myself and I want something that contrasts a lot with my chocolate one to make it worth it, so white seems like the logical choice. Personally I'm not willing to take the risk though, aside from the yellowing I've always heard that patent can pick up imprints from other things easily too (like if you rest it on a magazine, etc), and to me the charm of my muse is that I don't have to be careful with it.

But who knows, perhaps a YSL bag is made well enough that all the usual patent rules don't apply. I'd like to think so at least

I know exactly what you mean. Especially since I want it in an Oversize so it should be a bag I can toss around, hopefully everwhere...

If I had to be too careful with it, then it would mess up the 'look' anyways...

I tried on both yesterday and the Patent is really stands out but I'm also wondering if the Patent look will last beyond fall/winter. ;-P

I agree! I see so many women carrying around bags that cannot even close because they are so overstuffed - now that looks silly. I know we all need to think about proportions, but when you mix work with motherhood, small bags just don't cut it for the masses and proportions get thrown out the window as large or oversized bags become a necessity! I'd rather carry around a really nice, large bag that closes instead of a smaller bag that is busting at the seams .

Klow, your black patent bag is GORGEOUS!!! I have been looking for, well, forever for a bag that would fit all my work-related items and I think an oversized patent muse is the way to go . Although black would be practical for work, I'm dying to see the chocolate patent .

I saw the chocolate patent in the YSL store in SCP.
It was gorgeous and had burgundy undertones which I love, love, love!!

Unfortunately the store told me they only came in a medium and a small (a really tiny one)...they weren't getting them in large nor oversized

I have the chocolate patent Muse in size large. Bought it on the phone from the YSL boutique in San Francisco when they first got it - in June. I LOVE it even though I haven't carried it yet. I know it's the large because I have the med. Muse in ivory (I've been carrying that one alot). A bit off topic - but I have preordered the YSL Rive Gauche in black - I think that bag is hot - it's available at Saks online.
