There is a vast wasteland between dull as mud and camp drag queen frivolity.
Maybe he could make up his mind to do something more relevant.

How is this any different from Gaultier, Armani Prive, McQueen, or Galliano?

Obviously a great majority of their clothing were made for show, while an alternate (more boring) collection is put in stores.

The problem with Pozen is that he only does dresses who wear the NY socialites and some celebutantes and thats it ...

Im honestly getting tired of him ... Illl have to admit I kinda liked the yellow dress -mostly cuz of the colour- ... but enough is enough, some fashion writer please OPEN your EYES!

Aside from the fact that those designers have proven that they can make entirely wearable, extremely individual and completely desireable clothes and therefore have sort of earned the right to put some show on their runways. Posen has yet to prove he can dress anyone but party girls and cheesy celebs. His racks are stocked with the small selection of daywear and a few simplified party dresses.

idk. Seeing the Alexander McQueen show on style.com and actually going to the store in NYC were two different things.

How does one earn the right to put on an extravagant show? I watched the Calvin Klein show where piece after piece of monochromatic coloring walked on the runway. I find it refreshing that he's trying to do something dramatic.

What party girls has he dressed and who do you consider to be a cheesy celebrity? Besides LiLo, which I doubt he even knew the dress was for her, I think he's done a pretty good job of weeding out the bad ones.

I also just don't get the barbie doll comparisons. Because the dresses are extravagant and pretty they are being compared to barbie doll clothes?

This may be just me, but I think most of the clothes from the designers you named are beautiful. Well, not really Armani, but yeah. I think that with McQueen, Galliano, and Gaultier, they all have a subject to show or a point to state in their collections. And whether they're ugly or not, you can still aprreciate them for getting their point across. And sooner or later you might even start to like the collection. Zac, however, was trying to make some beautiful pieces, and it was a disaster. He didn't have a point with this collection, to me at least. It was all over the place. I feel like a designer has to show his/her interpretation of what fashion is supposed to be or where it's going, and I didn't really like these results. Excuse me if my post was all over the place, I'm not the best at stating my opinion.

The difference is Zac is an American designer so his work will be viewed as somehow inferior on TFS even when not deserving. In the the coming weeks even more ridiculous flights of fancy will grace the runways in Paris and Milan yet they will be considered "genius."

I really don't think this is too bad it's too messy and it's not coherent at all. In one or two seasons, will I be able to pinpoint where these clothes came from? The beauty of having a well thought out theme for a collection is that it's distinctive. If I think of miumiu there are distinct differences between each collection and even if I don't like a season I will remember it. I won't remember this. It's a bit like a garage sale.

Oh, just because he's an american designer does not mean a thing to me. Come Paris and Milan, I know that I will be telling the truth about the all of the collections. Trust.

ugh...this collection is absolutely dreadful. I don't tend to hate entire collections but in this case I actually do. It's so uninspiring. He has a lot of 'hype' and backing by P. something and yet he completely fails to deliver.

hmmm.. i liked a couple of the dresses from this collection, but I wasn't very impressed this time. I love Zac Posen, but I've seen him do a lot better.

The casual wear is pretty nice.. but the evening dresses are wow just so many frills and puffs and messy details.. Oh the big 'boulders' on the shoulders make me cringe
