Zac Posen S/S 08 NYC

This collection is so random, just when you look a tthe entore NY FW soo faar, off base is the right word.It started well then shilouettes just got crazy and his expiriment with volume falls falt on its face.

I love the texture and colour of the last gowns...:crush: They're gorgeous, but otherwise I don't like the collection, they really look like Barbie clothes...

Agree with whoever said it was random, especially the backdrop-very desert-like as it changed, especially at the end where all the dresses came out, but it didn't really suit the clothes. Beautiful dresses as always anyway...

I still can't believe this collection was inspired by The Shakers.....do they go to many Carmen Miranda conventions?

Some of the dresses were really fantastic I thought. But like someone mentioned, it seems like he ripped out YSL's downtown bag entirely!! He should start doing less dresses and gowns and focus on more daywear, at least more people can actually buy and wear them!

WHAT IS UP WITH THAT YSL DOWNTOWN KNOCK OFF?? am i the only one who thinks he copies other people again and again? (galliano, gucci, and now ysl?)

the night dresses are as usual the best part... although i really hate the inky, blue, degradee thing.

I disagree with everyone.

I had the pleasure of seeing the gowns up close and they're remarkable.

It's funny that people complain about how "boring" American fashion is nowadays, yet Zac's show is "too costumey" for some people...? Make up your minds.:innocent:

ironically this was suppose to be about the " country" , i mean for couture its fine but its so uptight and prissy that i get suffocated looking at it. The gowns are nice but day wear is waaaaaaaaaay to over the top

I agree that he should focus more on day wear. Also, just because NY shows are boring doesn't mean that designers need to completely rely on show rather than clothes. It's all about balance.

Sure.

So.... should he make a-line dresses with funky prints like every other designer (with a few exceptions) that showed at fashion week, or should he make an deconstructed dress (or 4) inspired from clouds?:innocent:

Now, I'm all for tacky (Roberto Cavalli is one of my favorite designers), but this is just a sad, repugnant, and tacky mess. Those last four dresses were hideous. And Zac is always bordering vulgarity in his collections, but he passed the line like fourteen miles this time. And the hairstyles are horrendous. It reminds me of pilgrims who have just come to the future and are trying desperately to be stylish, but with horrid results. Just a sad, sad mess.

ohmyohmyohmy...

the ONLY wearable dress is the long purple/blue one...

all of the others would be fugged to DEATH if seen on the red carpet!

and as for those final dresses.... wow.

...i made a costume once with dye patterns like that
....i was going for the MOLDY look...

Suzy Menkes put those petri dish dresses in the paper!

Is it supposed to represent wheat shaft mould perhaps?
