Big cast, very Ashley/Piergiorgio copy & paste from the recent F/W shows. Meisel re-doing Avedon's "American West" again, as he did at least once before in VI January 2002.

Should the men's campaign have a separate thread or can it be posted here too since it's also for SS25?

Fabien Baron posted the whole clip of the men's campaign directed by him and it looks a million times better than this. 🤡

Boring and lazy. He has copied American West many times before and with much better results. This looks like a no budget job.
They should just let Baron shoot everything. His films always outshine anything Steven does nowadays.

Chocked on my vape seeing this pop up on the homepage. Always so happy for a Meisel campaign!! And this doesn't let down, you can't go wrong with an Avedon imitation. And Meisel is the only one that can make me appreciate a cast of random androgynous teens, which I'm usually not a big fan of in fashion. Love, love, love

gorgeous casting-- i wish it had printed their name/age/where theyre from

absolutely beautiful photographs

American West is his lifelong obsession so one gets no extra point for seeing through the obvious, but just to be precise I think this might even be Steven reffing himself in VI Jan 2002.
love it, love that he's like "f*ck top girls" and went for a newbie cast. There's a hint of that raw side of him in this batch that I used to adore. #2, Caitlin, #17, #22 and last Ella pic.

Without Fabien, these Zara campaigns would fall apart.

And it’s Zara: It will always be securely nestled in “boring and lazy” to all that knows their high fashion references.

Steven x Fabien and their crew have been mining/pilfering/looting their superior heydays and cleverly appropriating it for commercial consumption at Zara. And it’s all still superior to whatever supposed high fashion publications and campaigns are churning out these days— except for French and Italian Bazaar that actually puts in the effort.

He captures the girls beautifully here but I don't think we can give SM any credit for the casting, given that it literally looks like every single model under 25 Ashley used in all of her Milan and Paris shows over the past month. In fact 80% of the cast is the exact same as Robin Galiegue's recent M shoot which was cast by PGM. He probably just gave her full control here; as lazy as that white backdrop that Mary Howard and her team are inexplicably being paid for (and this coming from someone who loved her use of white space in VI's "Venus In Furs"!)

Fabien's men's campaigns for Zara are often just as good and occasionally better than Meisel's women's output and that's definitely the case this time. It's definitely worth discussion in another thread I guess. Maybe it's also time to do a retrospective of his work on Zara campaigns since 2017 as art director?

Is this Karen Elson's daughter?
Yes 🌹

I know this isn't original. It also was seen in the Caitie Green VI cover story (loved that one as well), but it's safe, something done right. It's a distance from the Meisel I love (if only him and the team brings something never done before!), but he rules this field like a pro. And this is the closest thing we have to a regular VI editorial under Franca. Not the same again, that quality seems will never see the light again, but I imagine what they would make if everything stayed the same. I celebrate the new faces here.
