I suppose it's not the kind of show you admit to love on tFS.. but I do love it, very much so. no matter how cliché it is.

I don't mind the idea, but a good majority of this looks a little dated...

No no, I don't like this at all. I can respect the hippie influence, but it's way too prominent here.

Thanks Mullet!!
Sorry, I really love this...
I love the solid, non-velvet pieces: the fringed tops, long black skirt, violet dress, metallic shoes, khaki flowy blouse, cutwork, the mauve criss-cross top, one-shouldered dress...some of the signature utilitarian looks...in fact, I'd been waiting for years for Zucca to come out with another collection of flowy silhouettes like this. It isnt the most innovative or artistic collection Zucca has done at all, but it's just my thing.

Perhaps the combination of prints, crushed velvets and overpowering styling are putting people off.

This is absolutely gorgeous, I think. That shade of purple! The sublime joining of utilitarian pieces with softer, ethereal tops/dresses is impressively done. As is the use of crushed velvet which can be quite the trickster otherwise. A rich, entoxicating liveliness reeks from this collection. It's love... :crush:

Thanks, Mullet.

Well, it certainly confirms the ongoing tone for purples and greens, art nouveau prints, grungy early 90's hippie styling, etc. (Reminds me of early Prada and Anna Sui).
The individual pieces are fun and spread out with something less literal, very nice. I like the touch of copper as well.

No no, I don't like this at all. I can respect the hippie influence, but it's way too prominent here.
I'm the opposite. I usually do not appreciate hippie influenced things but this is well done. I like the styling as well. ^_^

 At least I admit to love it. And I'm really angry against myself because I didn't go to this show. Had to skip one or two shows and went to Haider Ackermann instead. Even the latter was kinda good, I would rather have attended Zucca :( Love the translucent light-green mini-skirt worn with floral-printed trousers. And about clichés ? Sure there are some (many ?:p) but I'm sure I've already seen clichés in shows like Galliano's:lol:

i dunno,as cliched as it is,at the same time,i really don't think it's as literal as perhaps others would do. bidwell, mentioning anna sui for one....if she were to do something like this it would look completely rehashed....like carbon copies of vinatge pieces. at least the zucca designers did utilise some of their own twists with this. and i usually detest grotesque, overdone retro revivals(and hippy style is worst of them all before 70's polyester claptrap) but somehow i am rather intrigued with some of this.
