Does anyone else hate the stupid contrived speech thing the presenters have to say before the announce the award? Example: "Movies... They can make us laugh. They can make us cry. They can make us scared." It's so cheesy and annoyed me so much I had to flick channels until they announced the nominees Also, who the hell invited The Rock to the Oscars? I mean... come on!

Marion's dress for the win! The red carpet was so boring though, nothing very interesting or daring or different, everyone looked very styled and staid IMO.

Yeah, those lines are terrible. They were talking about canceling the Oscars because of the writers' strike, but they could have used last year's lines and no one would have noticed.

The Rock was also at the Independent Spirit Awards ...
