Where I grew up the girls next door - at least the ones we wanted to date - looked more like Bridget Hall or Niki Taylor.
Anyhow here is another of my all time favorites: magnificent Mexicana Elsa Benitez! It's really sad that her career fizzled too. She has smashing good looks and is really classy too! Where did she go wrong? She really could have been a superstar. Some have suggested in these pages that choosing SI over fashion was the beginning of the end. Does SI really carry the kiss-of-death for a fashion model?
Right now, it is the kiss of death, unless it's a model with a huge contract (CK, Lancome) who does a job for Vanity Fair or something like that. I think it's primarily because the SI mags are making the models too submissive and too similar to the most timid types of p*rn stars. SI mags do their best to obliterate the edge that todays models were chosen for - they're big on female submission. So the end result is that fashionistas hardly tolerate commercially sexy models while SI dudes hate the sight of a woman with some edge. Gone are the days of Christie Brinkley, Gia, Janice and Cindy C.
