he Mission: Give Christina Ricci an art-meets-fashion beauty look for Givenchy’s closing party for Marina Abramović’s The Artist Is Present exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

The Face Painter: NARS national makeup artist Francelle.


The Face: To build on the already impressive canvas that is Christina Ricci’s gorgeous porcelain skin, Francelle used NARS’ new Pro-Prime Skin Smoothing Face Prep and its Matte Foundation in Siberia Sheer (yes, that’s the lightest shade they’ve got).


The Eyes: To get the “edgy classic noir” look she was going for, Francelle focused her energies due north of Ricci’s nose. “It’s all about the eyes,” the makeup artist said, building green tones from NARS’ Misfit Duo Eyeshadow into otherwise bronzed lids courtesy of NARS’ Eyeshadow in Galapagos. A slightly smudged-out line of its Aigle Noir Soft Touch Shadow Pencil—and the fact that Ricci happens to have a particularly spectacular set of huge, wide-set peepers—added to the sultry factor.


The Lip: As a finishing touch, Francelle gave Ricci a pearlescent silver/mauve pout with NARS’ Lip Gloss in Harlow.

The glamour quotient at last night’s BET Awards was sky-high, with presenter Taraji P. Henson leading the pack. Celebrity makeup artist Mylah Morales made up last year’s BET award winner—and Oscar nominee—using Lancôme mascara and lip colors. Mylah also primped Taraji for the awards after-party, co-hosted with P. Diddy, which called for a makeup change.

The look for the awards, Mylah told us, centered around gorgeous skin, pale lips, a neutral eye palette and loads of mascara. Lancôme’s Color Fever Gloss in Delirium delivered pretty pink shimmer that played off Taraji’s sleek silver dress.
For the lashes, Mylah used for Lancôme Définicils Mascara in Deep Black. Avon Global Creative Color Director and Hollywood Makeup Artist Jillian Dempsey prepped Kristen Stewart for the Los Angele Eclipse premiere and shared with Us Magazine her look for the stunning starlet.
“We made her eyes pop with shimmery, icy tones and added definition with black liquid liner,” makeup pro Jillian Dempsey tells Us Magazine. Opting for a more classic look, Jillian Dempsey shares she wanted to keep Stewart’s look fresh, while playing up the eyes.
For the premier, Dempsey used: Jillian Dempsey for Avon Professional Duo Eye Enhancer in White/Jet Black, $9.00. One end of the Eye Enhancer contains a creamy, smooth eyeshadow, and the other has a perfectly coordinated luxurious liquid eyeliner

CHANEL Celebrity Makeup Artist Kate Lee worked with Bryce Dallas Howard at the Los Angeles premiere of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse on Thursday, June 24th, 2010. Kate shares with us tips on how to get Bryce’s modern classic Hollywood makeup look.
“Bryce’s skin is milky perfection and her hair a deep auburn, so I wanted to avoid doing the expected, and decided to go for a bold lip.”
“Her skin was prepped with CHANEL Hydramax + Active Serum, and then I applied a mineral foundation. Her cheeks were CHANEL Powder Blush in Imprévu, which is a great mix of rose and bronze. I lined the eyes with the new CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Clair, and then went over the top with a pale pearlescent peach shadow from the new CHANEL Quadra Eye Shadow in Enigma to reflect the light. I then applied two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir.
On her lips I used CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Cambon which I matted down into a stain. I used the clear CHANEL Brow Shaper to set her brows in place, and then off she went to the craziest premiere of the year! The fans had been camping out for a few nights already!”

Kate Bosworth in CHANEL Beauté. CHANEL Celebrity Makeup Artist Kate Lee worked with Kate Bosworth at the season premiere of True Blood on Tuesday, June 8th. 2010. Kate shares with us her tips on how to get Kate’s warm, sun kissed makeup look!
“The base was minimal, Kate was tanned and so I prepped the skin with CHANEL Hydramax + Active Serum to make sure she was very hydrated, and a tiny wisp of CHANEL Vitalumiere Fluid Makeup was enough to bring the skin tone to match the chest and body.
Across the bridge of the nose, top of the cheek bones, and around the hairline, I used CHANEL Soleil Tan de Chanel in Terre Ambre to bring the focus to the center of the face. On the lids I used matte peach shadow to pop the colours of Kate’s amazing eyes. We decided to give a gentle nod to the 60′s influenced hair by drawing a very thin sharp black line next to the lashes with CHANEL Automatic Liquid Eyeliner in Noir, extending out past the end of the lash line to open the outer corners of the eye. Lashes were coated twice with CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir (available in September 2010), and bottom lashes were left naked. To open the eye further, I swept the new nude CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Clair (available in July 2010) inside the lower eye lid . I worked to elongate and define the brows with a liquid brow pen by Anastasia. The cheeks were CHANEL Powder Blush in Rose Temptation, (available in July 2010) and the lips were CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Secret.”

Last night at the 2010 Tony Awards, Scarlett Johansson won Best Actress in a Play for her Broadway debut role in “A View From The Bridge.” Johannson’s makeup artist Gianpaolo Ceciliato created a romantic and feminine make up look for the occasion using Dolce&Gabbana The Make Up.

How to get Scarlett Johansson’s purple eye makeup look:
First, Ceciliato lined Scarlett’s inner and outer eye lids with The Eyeliner in Dahlia. Next, he blended the purple shadow from the Eyeshadow Duo in Dazzling and the pink shadow from The Eyeshadow Duo in Guilty on eyelids. To complete the eye look, Gionpaolo applied several coats of The Mascara in black on top and bottom lashes.

To create the look, make up artist Matthew Vanleeuwen prepped skin with The Perfect Finish Foundation in Natural, and added a touch of The Bronzer in Desert for a radiant glow.
