Couture is not always elaborate evening wear. I've been able to see original Dior and Balenciaga from the 50's, it's some of the most mundane and simple clothes. What made them couture was the custom fit, quality fabrics, and detailed construction. There was of course elaborate evening wear with all the grandeur you'd expect from Haute Couture, but in Couture you designed for all aspects of a woman's life.
But, this offerring of clothes just doesn't seem to have the craft level it really needs for these kind of designs. That seam pucker is just so bad, I'd almost think it was intentional...
