Adeline Andre Haute Couture S/S 2007 Paris

this is one of the worst collections EVER, a disgrace to haute couture if there ever was one. did she intentionaly hire really old girls to model her cloth?

^I have to agree, normally I like AA's collections but this is just pitiful IMO. And the makeup is atrocious.

A little off topic, but I have never heard of her so I had to do some search. I read where she created something called a "three sleeve-hole". What exactly is that? (I hope that's not a dumb question  )

it isso naked.. idon'tlike . what are they trying to sellnot the clothes too ugly sorry

its like they just threw a piece of UGLY fabric over the models and told them to walk down the runway

theres nothing to it.......

minimalism....more like.....nothing-to-it-ism

i dont get it!-ism

^ lol nvm...what i wrote didnt make sense haha

i basically just HATE this entire collection... i dont get how its couture

^ Well it is couture, she only does customs orders... so hopefully the quality.

Couture is not always elaborate evening wear. I've been able to see original Dior and Balenciaga from the 50's, it's some of the most mundane and simple clothes. What made them couture was the custom fit, quality fabrics, and detailed construction. There was of course elaborate evening wear with all the grandeur you'd expect from Haute Couture, but in Couture you designed for all aspects of a woman's life.

But, this offerring of clothes just doesn't seem to have the craft level it really needs for these kind of designs. That seam pucker is just so bad, I'd almost think it was intentional...

completely agreed, i like the minimalistic idea, but the seem of the yellow dress makes me to don't look further...
i don't understand shoes[used also in the previous collection] and make up too...

this is more like rtw than couture.. even the craft level looks like rtw and the fabric quality isn't much better either.
haven't seen this designers earlier work (this is the first time i've heard of her) but from so far what i've seen.. don't like it. the idea perhaps was good but the execution failed miserably.

I love the idea that haute couture can be understated, but the way they chose to execute it is quite inexplicable. At first glance it's ugly, but it takes a closer examination to appreciate the full shallowness of it all. Not only is the collection ugly as hell, it's ugly for no reason at all

Haven't seen her previous collections (so I don't know if this has been mentioned before in another thread) but these shoes are identical to the United Nude shoes(which by the way cost something like 50 GBP) and can be bought online at www.unitednude.com.... :ninja: I personally find them ugly, despite the fact that they are designed by an architect and I am a structure enthousiast (the Dutch architect Rem D. Koolhaas.)...

She obviously has her clientele, she's stayed in business for a pretty long time, but I can't appreciate her work. I wouldn't know about fabrics quality and such, I'm sure it's excellent. But I don't care for her aesthetics, and this looks worse than usual.

I'm all for simple minimalism, but it needs to be constructed and thought out beautifully, and this just...isn't to me.
