Aldo

I refuse!

It feels like their soles are made out of hardwood …

Cute styles but it stops there.

Same here, I find Aldos really uncomfortable, always get burning sensations in the balls of my feet and I never do with any other brand of shoe and I spend most of my time in heels.

Aldo used to be much better many years ago (in my teen years.. so I guess 6-8 years ago). Now, they sell overpriced crap.

Their shoes used to be much more comfortable back then. Better quality too. Now you pay hundreds of dollars for terrible quality :yuk:

I have friends who worked there, and being forced to wear the brand's shoes, they have TERRIBLE feet problems now... :ninja:

Their shoes are so uncomfortable and the sizing is so off-I always need a size 10 even though I'm usually an 8.5 or 9.

They used to have great flats, but now they just seem to have the same styles every season. And the shoes just don't last-I bought a pair of boots last year and they are already worn out-I'm back to wearing my beat up 3 year old boots that these Aldo ones were supposed to replace!

Agree! They sometimes have okay styles for kicking around shoes, wearing out to clubs or bars in rainy or snowy weather, but the price point has jumped SO MUCH. I'm not going to pay 200+ dollars for aldo shoes. Silly aldo. We can just use ebay for used/out of season designer footwear at that price point. :innocent:

Woaaaa I'm very surprise by this thread... here Aldo is considered really bad. Like cheap shoes but overpriced and everybody in the city carry the same bags from Aldo , written Aldo on it jeez:blink:

Haha, has kind of the same rep here, but the shoes are DECENT but not for the price. We call them salesman shoes :P Not gonna lie though, the stores aren't to shabby, they present their product very well.

ALDO has 70% off before and after X'mas sell, but I don't like their styles at all. I stopped by there yesterday, and the store was packed. 70% off is a good deal, but the quality looks cheap. This is really sad.

bambam those are really cute! i wanna see them on, im sure they look good with a lot of things. do they run small?

I got these earlier this month..... they are Black Leather ALDO 'Desano' Platform Ankle Boots

Major Warning

Okay, so, I ended up placing an order on the ALDO website. Reason for that? Got a pair of ALDO boots for Christmas in two different sizes. That's right. My mom got me a pair and the SA mixed up the sizes, so I have a 38 and a 40. It's a huge pain in the ... to return them and obviously there are no more boots in my size, so I had to order them online.

ONLINE EXPERIENCE FROM HELL. NEVER ORDER FROM ALDO ONLINE!!!!!

I got my boots plus another pair. The way their website is made, you have to pay with either a credit card, interac or paypal. My problem is, I have a Mastercard, and they have this stupid Securecode system. Which doesn't work, EVER. Even if you put in the right code, it's something to do with a system and it never works (I once tried buying plane tickets from Continental and it didn't work either, they explained on the phone that the problem was my bank). And Aldo doesn't take interac from my bank (NatBank).

So basically, I'm screwed. I am obliged to pay with paypal, or not get the boots. But I want them (oh, stupid me). So I pay with paypal, since in the order process, they tell you that you can return the boots in any Aldo store.

Ok, so fast forward a week later. I got 2 pairs of boots today (ordered 4, some of them were really cheap). The ones I got for Christmas were fine, they fit, etc. The other pair I try one is too big. Keep in mind that both are size 40, but the other pair is REALLY way too big. WTF right?

So I want to return them. I look at the return policy, which they nicely enclosed and guess what? I can't return the boots in any store because I paid with paypal. I have to send them back on my own with UPS (aka most expensive shipping method ever) and wait for the instructions. I try calling their toll free number (the only number available on their website), and it rings busy ALL THE TIME. I can't even reach them!!!! I want to cancel the rest of my order (hasn't shipped yet) and I can't even do that because there's no one answering the phone, and no way to do this online!!!

I'm incredibly pissed and i feel like i have really been screwed. They don't carry shoes in my size in the stores (a 40... I'm a 9 or 9.5 in other brands) most of the time!!! I had no other choice but to get them online.

I wrote them an email but I am so pissed off. When you're in the buying process, they don't mention that you can't return the products in the stores if you pay with paypal, it's just written in a hidden section of the website. I am SO mad it's not even funny

And also, our consumer's law in Quebec says that if you buy something online and you want to return it, it is the seller's responsibility... so their policy is not even legal!!!

So yeah, BIG word of warning to anyone who buys online from Aldo. You better be SURE that it fits and that it is EXACTLY the product you want or you will feel ripped off and have to pay the big bucks to return the product. Personnally, it is definitely the last time I buy from their website, and I have a feeling I will not return to their stores for a very long time, if ever. Their customer policy is a JOKE. :yuk:

I went to the store a few days ago and wanted to buy a pair of boots which they don't have my size. The SA ordered them from their register online, and I paid them via my cc. The SA told me I should receive my boots within 5 - 6 business day, and I could return them to any store if I want to. I understand my case is different since I paid them with my cc. I am really sorry what happened to your purchase.

In U.S., most of the online ordering customers have to pay return shipping. Many cases the stores just deduct the shipping fee from the original amount and refund whatever left over.

Last, when you return your purchases, makes sure to ship with tracking.

^ Your case is different because the SA ordered it for you :( they apparently couldn't order in store for me, because the "in store" system and the "online website" system are not the same  so they didn't have any pairs left in my size in store, but they did online...

And yes, I believe that's the case in the US, but in Quebec there is a different law to protect the customers....

Anyway, I will see what they reply with, but I'm not happy about the fact that they can't be reached on a Thursday. I'd understand if it were Jan 1, but it's not and today is definitely NOT a holiday... grrrr

Thanks for your input though :flower:

I think their shoes are cute...but over priced...and the sizes SUCK. I bought a cute pair of shoes last week that were a 41 and should actually be a 38 or 37. I am pissed.

I found a few cute pair of boots...but I have to go a size up in their shoes and they are always WAY too big on my legs

it's kinda funny...
the sales guy tried make me get a bigger size- but i refused...
and i am so glad...
i guess a lot of people thing the shoes run big- but i got my regular size and it's def the right size...

and i think they are not expensive- i got boots for $130...
cheapest i saw anywhere...
sure- the quality isn't top notch...
but it's not a 'designer' store...
it's a store of basically designer knockoffs...
pretty much the same as steve madden...
so, i'd expect the quality to be somewhat less than a pair of balenciaga's from barneys...
:P

it's basically very trendy stuff....so it isn't even going to be in style in a couple years anyway...

personally- i got little moto booties that are cheapo, so that i can wear them in the bad weather and still look cute and not have to worry about ruining a good pair of shoes-
ie- the balenciaga's

i agree with softgrey, i refuse to wear "nice" boots during the winter.

any salt that touches leather will ruin it. and our streets here are covered in it because of the snow and ice.

many aldos are "outlets" but they dont advertise them as such on the exterior part of the building. thats where i get the super cheap stuff. B)

Jeeesus, thanks for the warning about ordering online, shame Id already ordered. Theres NO evidence of my order ever taking place according to Aldo, but I can assure you that there is some definite evidence on my bank statement. Arrh, really wanted those shoes and now theyre nowhere to be seen, probably all sold out.. if anyones order actually went through, Gutted!

it's basically very trendy stuff....so it isn't even going to be in style in a couple years anyway...

yes exactly!

aldo is my place for shoe impulse buys... i always wait until they go on sale because there are so many outlets around me where everything is marked off up to 80%.

i just bought these platform sandals for 20$! they're hella tacky yet they remind me a bit of a.p.c. sandals haha. i plan to wear them during spring with socks and tights.
