Alexander Wang Pre-Fall 2009

Alright I've come up with more...

I keep trying, but I honestly see nothing that is remotely Tom Ford for Gucci about this, with the one exception being that awful red velvet blazer. But whereas the Gucci one from '96 was chic and well cut, this one is sloppy looking and the velvet looks cheap.

I mean, was he looking at the same Gucci as the rest of the world, or was he just throwing the first soundbite that popped into his head out there and hoping it made sense?

God, you're good. This is disgusting, frankly. And to think he just won that prize.

Maybe he thinks he's at the point of his career where he can throw out whatever he wants and people will still buy it? It's tackier every season!!:sick::sick::sick::sick::sick:

What is this?!I thought his last collection was weak, but if this is going to signify whats coming up, I'm not too keen...

Ehhhhhhhhh. It feels forced, and contrived. To me it doesn't have the authentic Alexander Wang, grunge, I just threw this together kind of feel to it

I am sorry but I find this dull, dull and dull. There is nothing that I would want to wear in that lot. And the thought of wearing velvet makes me want to

Yeah I remember the blue and red blazers were sooo well cut and paired with slim bootcut pants it was a very hot new look then amidst the boring minimalism. Wangs collections are redundant and not in a good way . the velvet jacket here looks like its from Forever21

i never understood what the hype about alexander is all about?
can someone explain? maybe i don't know his work well enough... but this does not impress me at all

^ I feel the same way.

I mean I get the look, the whole trying-not-to-look-like-I'm-trying downtown urchin thing, but I still don't understand why people die over everything he does. They're uber-basic pieces that are heavily styled on the runway.

alexander wang went from most loved new designer to most hated in a matter of one season.

the styling has made the model look like utter crap.

she even looked hunchbaked and stumpy in quite a few..i'm too distracted by the styling/posing to see the (fairly bland) clothing properly.

"It's time to bring sexy back," said Alexander Wang. But hasn't he been hard at work at that task for seasons now? "A louche kind of sexy," he amended. So out went the mesh, perforated leather, and other athletic references from Spring, and in came an elongated scarlet velvet tuxedo jacket, a coral washed crepe one-sleeve draped cocktail dress with hook-and-eye closures, a light blue denim bustier with black velvet bra cups, and a gold-stud print trench. Wang still loves that effortless, thrown-together look, but the Fashion Fund winner is growing up, and so are the silhouettes and the sensibility of his clothes.
