even h&m already has a few of those in the recent collection! I remember a really nice nude, synthethic one and a more still-bohoish caramelbrown leather one with two buckles in front.
i really like the style, might search for a nice one. especially the anna cook one is brillant!

I was so close buying the one with buckles, I've been regretting ever since. I have to go back there, or any place that sells big belts. I used to have a lovely vintage one, but i throw it away in the late '90s

Belts in S/S 06

What catched my eye, was that in almost every show The Belt was incredibly important, a real fashion item ! It was really the eye catcher for a lot of runway outfits.

Maybe the belt is going to poke the long necklace from it's throne ?! What do you think ?

The revivial of the "wide belt" and more structured clothing is great! I also like the corset/russian style belts and the multiple-buckle belts as well.

I when to a thrift store on Friday and actually found a few vintage leather cumberbun type belts, a few snakeskins and a wide black leather, large buckle belt that I'm just sooo pleased with b/c I know I can wear it with so many things.

A lot of these belts (as we well know) are just being "revisited" again in new collections, so hunt through the thrift and cosignment stores first. That way you get the quirky, fun stuff.

I love this, particularly the Lanvin ones. I think its an easy way to completely change a dress. But would it work on someone with a very small torso? And will it become very mainstream quickly?

I'm 5'1, 100 pounds, small frame, short torso. It can work. I use to stay away from wide belts (really belts period) at a heavier weight and b/c it's against the rules for my body type. But, I decided to try it and see how it would work after years of steering clear of wide belts. As my earlier post stated I picked up some great vintage belts at a thrift store on Friday and my favorite one is a 2.5 inch black leather belt exactly like the Ralph Lauren Gold belt that someone posted and it worked!!

I wore it with a brown tweed skirt suit and my christian louboutin pumps; everybody was complimenting me on my outfit today and the belt just took it over the top.

I really dont think it'll become mainstream at all. I don't see anyone wearing even thinner belts. I've spotted a very nice wide brocade-ish belt on asos.com, but I'm gonna check out my local H&M before I order anything

I love belts, i think they add definition to your waist and helps keep my jeans up.

I am in love with the Missoni Obi Belts and Paul Smith had similar belts for his S/S 05 collection.
