All About Retail: Sales Associates, Management, etc.

Hey everyone!

I love this thread! I remember that some members posted in another thread that they worked for Dior Homme. Now I have just spent over an hour scouring the forum and cannot find the post or the names of the members! I would very much like to send them a message just asking about working at Dior.

Does anyone happen to know the people on this forum who work for Dior Homme? That would be such a great help.

Thank you :flower:

It is!!

so i found out today i got a job at harrods :). i'm so psyched, not only is it going to be great working there but that name on my cv is going to get me places. yey!

Oh cool! What department? Do tell us about the conditions (pay, commission etc.)

My friend worked at Gucci in Harrods but was part-time and didn't actually make it past the 3-month training period so he can't tell me a lot about conditions.

A question for all swedish people (and other people, i guess)

i hope this is allowed, if not.. just delete this thread. so.. i've been out looking for a job in like every single clothing store but i haven't gotten any. why is that? why is it so hard to get a job here in sweden while it's so easy in the us for example? i really need a job and the experience so my question really is.. do any of you guys work in a clothing store and do you need more people? or any other kind of "fashion" job? i really wanna get into this business but it's hard. i don't have any experience but fashion is a big passion of mine. and if i don't get a job, then how am i going to gain experience? i'm moving to New York in two years so i really need a job.

thanks in advance

sorry my experience.. if you dotn speak swedish thats is def a no go!! try to learn it is not too difficult!!! like other scandinavian countries.. the people are friendly and nice and speak perfect english but pretty nationalistic and they love to preserve their cultures!!!
So i do believe that it is important if you move to a country to study or work ect and you need to be able to speak the language spoken there!!!!

A good idea is to work in a bar or stuffs like that.

Hope you can have a good decision!!!

Is that something for you?

e-v-elina,

I have merged your thread with the existing and ongoing thread about sales associates ... since I believe that is the type of "job" that you are looking for.

Its very kind of you,BetteT not to delete it..

Wish you the best e-v-elina

Hey guys,

I have an interview at Selfridges, London tomorrow to work for All Saints in either menswear or womenswear. Does anyone have any idea of what they pay at Selfridges or at All Saints?

If not then I guess I will just wait until tomorrow to find out!

Thanks,

My friend gets £7.20 an hour, part-time SA.

Hey PrinceOfCats,

Thanks for the reply. That really isn't too bad! Which department does he/she work in? Do you know anything about discounts?

Thanks :flower:

Does anyone know the average employee discounts for places like Juicy Couture & Intermix?

aah, had to make this post as well since the last one was a scary post number! sorry.

Hey guys,

I have been offered a job in All Saints womenswear at Selfridges. The base salary is £1000 per month plus incentives and you get 5 free clothing items to start your wardrobe (with no price limit!!!) and then a £400 gift card to spend on whatever you want each season.

Does that sound good to people as I really have no idea.

I'm still considering whether to take the job...

Wow, I don't know what the going rates are but that sounds fantastic to me!! I WOULD TAKE IT!!! But, like I said, I don't know what similar jobs offer.

Oh, wait. Is your free clothing from the womenswear? Well, that's not so cool then unless you're into that, lol. Tell us what you decide.
