A few days ago I saw this video, since the launch is scheduled for today I thought I'd create a thread about it, but I'll start by saying that I'm not sure exactly what campaign it's about. But associating the name 'Alo' with Meisel was strange ahahah.

It sort of makes sense as the new bags are apparently expensive... I need to see more, though.

Well maybe if I was one of the most legendary names in fashion and they offered me a huge amount of money, allowing me to have complete control over the project (from the studio to the casting), I would do it too. Perhaps the only downside is that my good name would be tarnished, but perhaps he doesn't care that much. When I read Meisel, I immediately go to those photos.

He has been photographing ads for everything - from sportswear, department stores, celebrity lines, accessible cosmetic brands, smaller designers - throughout his entire career. His work for big brands may be his most recognizable and remarkable, but I don't see the harm in the smaller advertising works that surely pad the bank accounts nicely. Especially considering that they aren't anything unsightly.

Can someone explain to me what exactly Carlyne's contribution is in a campaign like this? They just hired her for the vibes and prestige?
They definitely did their homework : " How to be taken seriously and praised by the industry", they know exactly who to bring on board.

I now realize how much money this company is making. I thought it was just a trendy brand,
but it's actually so popular that there are even counterfeit versions of it on the market !
I'm very surprised that Meisel is the photographer for this campaign, but it makes sense given the direction they're heading for.
I wonder if their product range will expand beyond activewear. I wasn’t expecting much, but it’s always a pleasure to see Candice shot by Meisel and this is probably the only chance Daiane Sodré will have to work with the Steven Meisel. She should’ve had her breakout years ago

He really should fire his current retouching team. Candice doesn't even look like herself in the group shot. The reference is obviously his editorial with Carmen and Heidi for US Vogue.
So true. That was my first reference too. Daiane also looks completely different.
