Ann Demeulemeester Shopping Thread

omg ...that hat is to DIE for......

i have never seen it anywhere...sorry...
will let you know if i come across it though...promise...:flower:

'but i like the girl's boots better.
is there something wrong with me.'

def. you're now a gay drag.

im a little excited, a store near me's started carrying ann d. :buzz:

Hey bcthree,
Are u looking for the men version or the women? The one u posted is women's. Assin still has the men version. I also saw one on SF but missed out on it
From Assin:

if the other one is the womens version - then by all means i want DAT one - this one up here looks so slipshod compared to the other - even though this one is velv/silk

Just got the riding boots from FW07 at 65% off. But I'm wondering if they would get much wear here in Socal ^_^

You can always sell them! :innocent: ...

Did you get them from Komakino, you lucky bastardo!? :p

thanks for clearing that up for me beautiful s.
for a moment there, I was worried that I just cared more for her design in women's boots than men's boots.:flower:

softgrey hi, you must be exhausted with such a busy week.

yes, I did return them because they weren't very well made (I wonder if overall her Made in Tunisia clothes are of lesser quality than those Made in Belgium) just an observation. however, I did manage to pick up (for much less cost :flower:...and much better quality B)) a pair of gauzy 2-layer lightweight wool ones from last spring that have a drawstring and they are perfect. I already wore them twice.

FYI, monamoore has some new season shoes up. still looking for the ones you want...^_^

shirlee, I quite like those but I know that the toe box ran very pointy, so they have to fit just right or your toes spill over.

the ann d. pant. yoox.com

Those pants are translucent, that's a, hmm, bold statement right here.:innocent:

Moving production to Tunisia is a cost-cutting strategy many european designers choose to take and so far, it has only lowered quality and not prices. I wonder if in 50 yrs we'll talk about the legendary quality of western-european made goods the way we talk about how tailoring was the standard in the first part of the 20th century.

...i am definitely veering back towards demeulemeester's style after several seasons of not really 'feeling' it...
not sure why that is...
Same here. I've been regretting selling my Ann stuff a few years ago. Oh well. I have a feeling I'll start picking up new stuff soon.

I want that hat sooooo badly.

i have been wearing the motorcycle strappy boots that you used to have alex...
been wearing them a LOT...and everyone stares and tells me how much they love them...
it's funny...
they seem more 'right' now than when i first got them...

maybe that is part of the 'thing' with ann..
because it's not on trend...it's often right for a couple of seasons and then not so much and then it's right again...
they are sort of classics that come and go but are always sort of there...

I got this leather pouch necklace a couple days ago. It comes in white too but I had to get the black.

i agree, this season i couldn't find a single garment that i actually liked.

hi guys i need your opinions :) i deciding which one to get the 1st and 2nd pic is Ann Demeulemeester combat boots $1085 and 3rd pic is yohji yamamoto dr.martens $645. what do you think?? im very petite 5'0 feet tall. thanks in advance :)

If you are petite, no 2 will be way too chunky..... they are my favorites, but they are heavy, both on the feet and the eye ....

ok so i think pic 2 is just a reverse angle of pic 1,
they are they same boot.
now pic 3 is an entirely different boot.

i say no to either for you. i don't see you making them work, sorry. :flower:

they are they same boot.

they are not the same...

I own the second pair and although it's not obvious for the picture, it is even a bit square at the toes...

also, the zip and the flap makes them bigger and chunkier in shape... that's why they can be overwhelming on a petite figure...

juno,

the second pair if you are looking for something more modest, first for more of an outspoken statement... (personally I love both but I think the yohji's are understated elegance), both have their place so it just depends on "how" you'll you wear them. the first two picture are indeed the same boot from the barneys website. I need you to post credits to prove me right!
