Anthropologie

I'm curious as to how they're going to be different than the US stores. Anthropologie is very conceptual.

I love looking at this store on the web, I love a bright coloured chair they have, my dh hates it, the clothes are nice imo!

I finally got the coral shift dress yesterday.Still wasn't on sale though :( - figured I'd never see it in the sale section since it's been there since Feb/March and is still full priced.

However, I was able to rummage through the sale section and get this skirt:

I tried on a Ranna Gill dress (has anyone purchased any of her designs?) Unfortunately, the dress didn't fit me right and I didn't feel like getting it tailored. I'm assuming the sizes run large for that brand?

I really want a bunch of stuff off their website but its quite expensive! Boo! I might buy a few things and see... I think shipping to the UK might be expensive too though.
I love the Liden Blouse, Owl's Nest Necklace, Pompadour Skimmers shoes, Bengal Stripe Skirt, and Cast Shadow Skirt... whew!

London Store apparently opens on 23rd October... though on the website it says a few weeks which is 3 weeks which is not the 23rd heh
only saying that as im saying in London for a week leaving on the 12th grrr so annoying

I wonder how the UK prices are? will they be the same as the website as I had the impression they were just coverting them from dollars?

they have such cute shoes at the moment.. i'm torn on which ones i should get! help!

^^i like the first pair best, not crazy about the last pair....

thanks chrissy, i like the first pair too. now that i look at it, i hate the 2nd and 3rd pairs hahaha

Took a peak online last night and they have so many cute pieces right now. I hadn't visited their site in years and is it just me or have their prices taken a huge hike? I can't believe the price of some of the items. My basket totaled $700 after I was done .

Regardless of the prices I think I'm going to at least purchase this dress. It reminds me of the Opening Ceremony sunburst dress that I missed out on last season and I've been kicking myself for it ever since.

Some other items I'm contemplating...

I agree, I just got their Holiday catalogue, and it sort of annoyed me the way they think people are going to spend during this economy especially. I mean handknitted cuckoo clocks for 400 bucks?? seriously?

nice stuff party_vixen...
the blk dress is a great cut... so appropriate for so many different occasions..

i think they often have great jewelry but the prices usually make me cringe

The dress is lovely, party_vixen.

The prices do start really high, but they have awesome sales occasionally, especially once things get marked down the second time. Right now there's free shipping for any order over $150.

I went into the Regent St. store tonight and it was lovely. Really big and spacious, the staff were amazing (rare in a high street store in the UK in my opinion - at least in London), a mix of British and American staff, and nice proper dressing rooms. One woman was even confused by the dressing rooms!

My only annoyance is the prices are so different from their website! I picked up a big cozy cardigan and a pair of J Brand jeans, and while I accept that with VAT and duties it would be more expensive than in the US, compared to their website, there is an 85 pound difference  I added the same items to my basket, and have calculated all shipping, VAT and duties costs, and that is the price difference. Honestly, it's easier to get things online than trek to Regent St. so I'm kind of annoyed because for 85 pounds I will go and return these things and then just order them online.

eta: In an update to the above issue, I called the Anthropologie store and they were super helpful and I was on the phone with one of the assistant managers for about 10 minutes, and the manager will get back to me tomorrow but if there is any issue at all, they will refund me the difference so I don't have to go into the store. I've really been super impressed with their customer service in the London store.

And party vixen - I love that dress and bracelet! All their bracelets at the moment are so cute!

^ Wow, I would have suspected with the shipping and everything it would coast more to buy online but not I guess it's not always the case? And good luck finding your purchases again for a cheaper price ^_^

First Anthropologie purchases - it's more pricey than what I would usually pay for clothing items but I'm hopping the quality and wear will just justify it.

they have suddenly started sending me emails which i find odd and annoying since i never signed up for them and have never even ordered anything from them online...

:ermm:...

Thank you everyone :flower:. I really love the dress but its sold out in my size. And it won't be restocked until after the free shipping promotion is over .

Meg, that is a huuuge difference. Hopefully you get refunded the difference. What cardigan did you get?

The wrap sweater (pictured above) I have been thinking about for days. However its $140 Cdn and the min to qualify for the promotion (in Canada) is $160. And well I don't want to buy something I don't love just to qualify. However I do not want to pay their shipping rates. I do love that flower necklace but its almost $200 . So now I'm not sure what to do...? I wish I could just have everything. It's all so pretty .

Yes, I will definitely get refunded, the manager is just going to make sure that's not some weird glitch in the system or that I'm not missing anything (which is possible).

Sorry - I thought that was a cuff! I agree the necklace is pretty. Could you call a store in Canada and get them to ship it to you? That might be cheaper...?

Softie - how bizarre!
