Anthropologie

I think it depends on the store....the Anthropologie nearest me at Somerset Collection is quite large and they have a whole room for sale merchandise at the back of the store....

Somerset Collection is absolutely amazing!

I love Anthropologie!!! Probably my favorite store. I think some of their bags and jewelry are overpriced, but I love their apparel! And the selection of shoes they have is amazing. They recently started carrying a brand called Leifsdottir, which I am completely in love with and have only seen at Nordstroms and I think Bloomies, and they carry a lot of Corey Lynn Calter & some cute Anna Sui things. And their sales are amazing. The only downfall is Nordstrom puts Leifsdottir on sale way before Anthropologie. I also love their furniture but those prices are utterly insane. The stylists for the catalogue are VERY good at what they do.

Leifsdottir is a new extension of anthropologies brand :). they design it and everything!

I looooooooooooooove this store, but always go straight to the sale section first! I was able to get this cute black blazer with bows on the front on sale (from $198 to $50). Got some cute tights on sale for $7 (one's brown with pink polkadots and the other is black lace).
What do you guys think of this shift dress? I just noticed it online - love the color. Has anyone purchased/tried it on?

^ Love the dress. Your jacket sounds similar to mine :ninja: Ah well, if it is the same, I needed and bought mine for a particular occasion.

^ hehehe is it by Taikonhu? I wore it to work today and all the girls at the office loved it. It was a great buy.

^ Yes, it is ... I paired it with a black skirt I already had for interviews. I like it a lot, but the bows have been coming loose ...

Did you see anything along similar lines for spring?

^ Not really. To be honest, I was kind of disappointed with their current collection. I bought some really nice pieces this past fall/winter from anthropologie, but wasn't in love with any particular item that they have up now. Some of the jewelry is gorgeous though.

Thanks for the heads up regarding the bows on the jacket.

Is it just me, or does it seem like they have less stuff for spring than usual?. Maybe it's the terrible economy...

Can I get some opinions... is this simple knit dress worth $138? I bought it but can't decide if I should return it or keep it. It fits really well around my bust/waist, and the color is so pretty. Honest opinions appreciated.

^ I work at Anthropologie, and I've seen so many women try that dress on. Personally, I always think that Velvet's items are overpriced and it's Anthro's own label too. I wouldn't be surprised if they go on sale within the month. I would return it. It's easy to find a simple empire waist knit dress like that one, I promise!

If it were me, I'd keep it ... at that price point I don't worry so much about the $$ but about finding something I really like that I think will hold up. But if it's worth it to you to stalk it on sale, I imagine they will order it in in your size?

Anthropologie totally messes with my head! I go in there & even though a lot of the clothes are not my style, I begin to convince myself that I need to change my style completely & become an anthropologie garden princess...

I read that somewhere. . . I am obsessed w/Leifsdottir and I hope more department stores pick it up!

I love this dress! I almost ordered it in grey but it's backordered until the end of April and I can't wait that long for something.

If you don't miss the $ then definitely keep it! Velvet is a little overpriced but I've never had problems with anything from that label, so I think if you love it, it's definitely worth the $. If you return it you might see it on sale in a month which I find with a lot of items @ anthropologie but most of the time they don't have all colors/sizes available on sale.

OMG! I LOVE this^ !! Hilarious.

I've seen Leifsdottir everywhere, though, like Nordstrom's... so it surprises me that Anthro designs that brand?

It's definitely an Anthro/Urban Outfitters Co. brand. So is Velvet and a few others that Nordstrom and Anthropologie sell.

^ I don't think Velvet is a store brand. It's designed by Graham and Spencer.
