Apple or PC?

^ Exactly. I bought a mac because it looked nice. Does that make it superior to a PC in my eyes? Yes. Do I care what's inside it? Not really. Like most people here I imagine, I use my macbook for email/internet and maybe the odd bit of DVD watching or basic photoshopping....which 95% of computers are capable of. A mac just does it so much more nicely. :D

Not sure I'd want to upgrade my 'CPU'....even if I did know what it was.

Funny that this was mentioned because I was just discussing this with friends a few days before. I'm as good or bad with a mac as I am with a Windows PC. And the only thing I use it for is surf the net, check email, socialise and maybe that odd bit of work. Things like typing essays, light editing on pictures etc.

Besides the whole inconvenience about PC games, the comparison for the average user ultimately boils down to price vs aesthetics.

Personally, I just want something light and pretty and does all the things I need it to do without me ever needing to tell it what to do and Mac fits the bill. That said, I really don't like my old MacBook Pro. The silver ones. It heats up so fast and burns my legs. Does the new MBP have this problem?

^ Almost all laptops will heat up... Some more severe than others it may seem. One thing you may try are cooling pads... Heat is a killer to ALL electronic devices and will reduce performance as well as zap battery life if there is a cooling fan always running. Simplest of these I have seen are "gel" mats that are designed to draw heat away.

Apple!!!
I bought my iBook G4 three years ago and I'm very happy with my choice. Maybe I will get a new one this year but my old one is still working 100% and is still fast enough for all the "normal" computer stuff I'm doing with it.

But that defeats the purpose of having a laptop!
And those cooling fans thing never really work. Some tech paper did a trial and apparently, the temperature only differs by 1-2 degree celsius. Hardly worth the effort.

Apple.
I've had both PCs, Macs, iPods, iPhones, Blackberries, Nokia, Motorola. Basically I've tried everything and nothing competes with Apple products, ever.

^agree. i love my macbook. works for my everyday purposes and it's easy. had 4 dells and they all crashed/overheated/etc. etc... i dunno. if & when the day comes that my macbook does that to me, then i'll come back here and say neither!

for the heat of laptop ...
i'm not a specialized person ... but for PC, use a fan ... it's made on purpose ... it's like a little plate with a little fan ...

you also have software that balance the inner fan of your computer .... i guess you have to know a little about your computer ... but well you can read, non ? so read your PC guide and one or two forums ...

mac heat is rare, but comes ... if you dont take care abou it ... so go to a mac shop and make it clean from dust etc.

what i like about mac ... is the battery ! genius !
as i said i don't know that much about computers, but Mac battery can last for +6hrs !!!!
mine (Asus i bought 2-3yrs ago) used to last 1h30 and now ?! 25 min !!!!!! I never changed the battery ... of course !

i vote apple. mine just broke unfortunatley so i'm using my PC until i can get my apple's screen fixed. it takes a little while to get used to the various differences, but once you make that transition you will be in LOVE!

I vote for apple:heart:, I think apple is elegant with a good design, with good features. But I'm content with any computer to check e-mail or visit any website, haha. Also , I gotta say that I count the days to get a macbook hahah:P:D

im in love with my pc:heart: please dont shoot me for saying that:lol:

cannot wait to see what windows7 will be like when its commercially released to the public.

yes i've used a mac before we used them all the time at uni, but i can happily use photoshop on my pc, i just prefer them in general.

edit: there was a post above this one, im not just talking to myself.

yes, sorry, i deleted one caus i thought it was posted 2 times, than i realised it was not even one left...

I've been using Windows since I first opened a laptop. I wanted to change to a Mac a long time ago but never had the money...well, it's still a big issue but recently I am thinking more and more about buying a Macbook. So, now my question to all of you who use Apple: was it a big change for you - switching from Windows to Apple?

^ What kind of change are u referring to?

Personally I dont see it as a big change, definitely that are things u haven
to get to used at first but basically Mac's way of doing things is to simplify a lot of things in the
way the computer operates so u might not be used to it like I do at first, but after getting used to
it, u will realise how silly Windows is, by complicating and adding tons of steps to things where u
can do it so simply in Mac :flower:

Well, with "changes" I meant if Apple really is that different from Windows and if it will take me very long to get used to it. But of course, this differs from person to person anyway :P I've never used a Mac before. Only know my friends' opinions about it and almost all of them point out the same things you do, that it's way easier and user-friendly to handle than Windows. Not to speak of the amazing graphic-features it has.
So, I guess I'll just try it out ^_^
Thanks for sharing your expierence anyway.

MAC,but I use an windows laptop too
actually a lot of things which apple cant view..

I will never buy an Apple product - because I do not approve of their business model.

As a gamer, PC is definitely my choice.
Mac just costs way to much money and you can get a faster PC for a cheaper price.
