Apple or PC?

It took me a few years, but I finally converted to a Mac in December 2007. I LOVE IT! 
I still don't use it to it's full capacity as far as programs go and stuff, but aesthetically - stunning! I have the iMac, no laptops for me. It's super fast, and has only frozen once. I have this thing for Excel though, I know.... kinda sick isn't it?
Windows totally blows!

I got my first mac, an ibook, in 2005. I kept my IBM X41 (at that time, a quite fancy model :-D) because I thought Id have to in order to work as smoothly as before with stuff like protools, word etc.
Wrong. I never missed it. And Im reminded everytime i use a windows PC, those error messages you get constantly, runtime errors and 'WARNINGS'. Not on mac. I got a kernel panic once, and its annoying, but the machine simply explains in seven languages or so, that I need to restart the computer. How about that, windows? Instead of all those fatal error alerts? Id like that.
I only replaced the ibook because of how difficult it was to exchange the harddrive and the fact that it didnt support mor than 1gb of RAM. Im in online media, so I need plenty of space on the go when I empty my recorder and camera SD/flashdrives.
But I just replaced my internal 80 gb HDD in the black macbook with a 250Gb HDD - on new mac laptops HDD as well as RAM replacement is completely fool-proof. You cant go wrong, seriously, it took about five minutes.
Thats really a plus to me. As well as Time Machine, that function saved my *** a few times. I really dont get windows people insisting Apple are evil and mac-users are only interested in the status of flashing an expensive laptop. Its all about usability for me, and apple just does the job better than a pc with windows.

Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention that it's ridiculously QUIET! There's none of that annoying tick-tick-tick sound you hear coming for PC's when they're processing something or "working hard". The Mac is just silent, totally silent. Kinda freakishly so, actually.
really ? my macbook is pretty quiet.

Im wondering whether I shd get the Mac Book Aluminium or the Mac Book Air?

i'd choose the mac book aluminium cause the mac book air doesn't have a dvd drive

Is there really a competition between Apple and PC? Apple's are superior computers. Unless you like to play games , there is absolutely no reason to choose a PC. Yes they are expensive but also last forever, so become cheaper in the long run.

Not shure there will be new macbooks in june, maybe a minor upgrade. BUT! Snow Leopard is coming and that'll be worth the wait! Not a hundred percent it'll ship june but crossing my fingers and legs!
Needless to say, I'm a mac-person

i feel like i have to stand up for my PC's here since this seems like a pretty one-sided debate and me being the geek that i am.
when it comes to MAC's, they are aesthetically pleasing compare to MOST PC's, inside and out and very easy to use and understand. But that doesnt make them better, just an easier computer for the average everyday user... i'll give you that.
as for PC's, theres so many different companies on the market making crap computers that its easy to assume Apple(which only puts out about a handful of models) is superior when compared to those. Most of the time people are comparing a $1000 laptop to a $2500 macbook pro or a $800 PC to a $2000 MAC, of course MAC's are going to come out on top. But i assure you, if you actually searched by price-for-price and feature-for-feature, there are also $2500 laptops and $2000 PC's that will blow the doors off MACs.

As an interior design student, MAC does it for me. My macbook pro is already two years old, and still it gives me an edge of reliability, speed, and overall performance above those of my classmates brand new PCs...
