they're incredibly user friendly once you learn where things are stored on the comp. trust me, i switched to mac from windows and wondered the same things, and now i get confused when i have to use someone else's (windows) comp! mac is more convenient in its set-up and design imo... and yeah, you can still do sharing files, it'll all be explained in packets and on your mac comp and i'm sure you can find additional resources online or on a customer service line on file sharing networks. but overall it should be very simple.

borja, there is MSOffice for mac - i have to work constantly with word and excel documents created on PC, and didn't have any problem, you can open and edit any document created on pc:)
in the office we have both plattforms and the network is working well both ways - pc to mac, mac to pc, too

Oh man, I think I already replied to this thread but Apple all the way!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Mac!!!

I'm a PC person, but now Apple can switch back-and-forth from apple's opporating system to Windows XP. So I'm very tempted to switch.

A Macbook the same spec as my VAIO (and Sony are hardly known as bang-for-buck) costs £375 extra. I feel a Mr T quotation coming on...

I've also answered but well, my answer would be a mac, again. The only thing ... many portals are only PC-friendly. Which is such a hassle doing work at home.

I've always used a PC. But when I buy my own I will probably get a laptop. Just because I couldn't stand having something as ugly as a PC in my room. And I really don't want to be lugging the thing around when I move.

My boyfriend used to do tech support for Sony and says their laptops are pretty bad quality, I would trust him on that one.

Not to mention the exploding Sony batteries used in many other computers including Macs...of course if they cut corners in manufacturing their products are going to be cheaper but not necessarily any good.
