Apple or PC?

I'm typing this from a macbook, and it's teh best. Everyone balks at the price. but between repairs for crappy pc's and the lifespan of the average mac (teachers still use the clamshells with no problem!) they are still better in the long run. Large investment=Large Payoff.

Apple.

look better, no virus, more easy to use, Iphoto, itune, Imovie included, will never use a crapy PC again.

Imac at office, macbook to move and i pod touch with them...cool package i m super happy to have.

I hate my pc with a passion. It is just awful. I mean it. And i shouldn't say that bc my dad used to work for a pc company, lol. I've gone through 2 of them.

I need a Macbook bad. Related: The ipod touch too :o!!

I am getting an Macbook partly with my tax return and partly with my personal savings! I am doing my taxes early this year for this very reason. I have loved Apple computers since the sixth grade, and I cannot wait for the day when I own one.

Mac user.

I run XP on my mac anyways, best of both worlds.

Also some hardware manufactures are making their motherboards EFI and not BIOS now, so many people could be able to install Leopard on their computer.

General Mac question; all of Apple's stuff is price controlled I get. And yet I remember a while back there was some buy an iPod + Macbook get a discount? Did I make that up? Is there any discount at all for buying multiple Apple items/products or rebates? All I can think of for now is ebates for Amazon order of a Macbook, and turning in old iPod for 10% off new one instore.

Apple usually has some great deals/discounts around back-to-school time for students..that's all I know.

I agree! I have had my iBook for 6 years. It was with me through college and grad school and now I use it just for regular home interneting. It has been through A LOT...drops, spills and the like, but is still with me today!

One of my friends recently bought a new macbook and got a free iPod.

I love my toshiba pc, but I really want an apple because they're sooo pretty!!!

My first two computers were PC's because My entire family uses PC's. A few years ago I started using a Mac because its what my boyfriend had. Now I have my own new Mac. I will never go back to a PC. I love Mac. So easy and fun. Yes, more expensive initially but for me its been worth it. :flower::heart:

MacBook Air Released with Slew of Problems

By Charlie Sorrel January 31, 2008 | 6:53:53 AMCategories: Apple, Notebooks

When Steve Jobs first pulled the MacBook Air from a manilla envelope at Macworld, he claimed that unlike other manufacturers, Apple had made no compromises to build such a skinny notebook. Jim Dalrymple of Macworld disagrees. He has listed a whole range of problems, all of which Apple has copped to in official documentation.
First, the MacBook Air might have trouble with early 801.11n routers. The "n" specifications are still in draft, so although most routers work fine with most computers, the Air's new implementation might see interference from devices using the 2.4GHz range of the spectrum. You'll need to switch it up to 5GHz or, says Apple, buy a new router.

Jerky video from the built in iSight camera is also a possibility (fix: update to the latest version of Quicktime, 7.4), as is slowdown: Things get hot inside that tiny case, and the MacBook Air might shut down one of its CPUs to keep things cool. Last is the headphone jack. Like the iPhone, the jack on the Air is slightly recessed so some jack plugs just won't fit.
The ultra-portability is starting to look a little jaded. To use the Air properly, you're going to need to carry a few accessories: A USB hub, your restore disc, a USB ethernet adapter, a headphone adapter and possibly even an Airport Express. Don't throw away that bulky laptop bag just yet.
