Apple or PC?

Indeed,Faust! I know I could never live without my iBook....it's just so much more pleasant to use than I ever experienced with a PC.

Does anyone know if its easy to go from a PC to Apple because im thinking about chaning :innocent:

Macs are a bit easier and intuitive than PCs in my experience, and I work on both. Things like networking and setting up printers is so much easier...

The one thing that makes me confused when I switch are the keyboard shortcuts. On the PC it's ctrl + letter, on the Mac it's cmd + letter; it's more comfortable on the Mac because the keys are closer. But it's not a big problem, as soon as I realise the shortcuts don't work I adjust. One mistake per switch, sort of...

It's not difficult...you'll love it...you'll never be the same!!!!

my ibook fell off the sofa and the lcd completely cracked. i'm heartbroken. now i have to decide... winter clothes or new lcd.

It is a stigma, very misleading indeed, using an Apple is harder than learning a category IV langauge (Arabic or Chinese). It is actually very easy. The noticible differences (all positives) are that hardwares are plug-and-play, less viruses, updates are simple and easy to perform on a MAC. Aside from these positives, the interface is more stable and saved files can be found easier; thus, the environment is more logical. And if all the semi-techinical thumbs ups are not enough (can you tell which side I am cheering for?), the design is super slick and since wa are all fashionphytes, what can be better than another in-the-know fashion statement: a MAC!

Okay, all you PC fans can bring on the attack...:)

In my country no one really uses Apple. PCs are everywhere. I always used PCs as I didn't have any other option. But I love Apple design so much that 10 months ago I bought from eBay an Apple iBook and I'm in love with it. It isn't hard, the only hard thing is that I have no support. I don't know anyone else who uses Apple so I have to figure everything out myself. Also, there are no stores that sell Apple hardware. I need to get a mouse and after a long search I found that there is only on little store hidden somewhere that is open only for 4-5 hours in the morning !!

But to be honest I think that PC is easier to use. But maybe it's because I'm so used to it and Apple is relatively new to me

I'm a PC girl. I've tried to switch to Apple and just couldn't do it.

DancingQueen, I am a Windows user but there are just so many times when I wish I can switch to an Apple machine, for the plethora of reasons listed above, especially the last one ;)

Unfortunately for practical reasons, I need to use a PC for work and there are more games available for the Windows platform. Anyway, we shall see, I am thinking of buying another laptop for personal use and blogging so maybe I'll need to decide if I should get an iBook then :p

Strange how hard it can get to switch.

I've been a Windows user for as long as I've used the computer. We're talking about 20 years and more. But I got my mac last year and am now using it with total ease. Yes, I did buy a manual to go with my mac, and everything is as easy, as they say, as a b c.

i have an apple. and love it. i never had one before, but purchased it for college, my career and such. it's the artist's choice.

I might have posted in this thread before but I'm too lazy to look. I use both but I really LOVE my iBook G4. :)
